Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

My Corvette made it to Colonia. It was a real pleasure to see her again, and the seat still fits just right.

Never mind that the mission I took was bugged, lol (got a trespass fine which turned into a bounty, while sitting on the surface of a planet 5 km away from anything, and definitely not within a trespass zone of any kind).

I haven't done very many missions since the big update. It's kinda weird to be so focused on a task after so much random exploring and slow-paced mining. Nice to see they are still as bugged as ever :p

Here's the battle wagon in all her glory:

I know right, stealing from poor NPC, in a lawless system at that! At least I didn't kill them. Well, except that Type 6, whose escort high waked after I made space dust from said the T6. It was as funny as it was pitiful to see the harmless eagle trying to dent my shields...
Just stay away from me. My ship ID is DA-25A. :D

Don't worry, I'm a PvE player, even though I roam in open. For example, when I was in that (juicy) system the other day, there was another cmdr in a clipper. I hailed him and asked "pirate or hunter"? He was a pirate. I wished him good luck. At some point, he dropped in my wake, and told me "sorry, didn't know you were there". I answered "plenty for the both of us". So I picked up my loot, he went after the NPC (he could, he has a clipper). After, he offered to wing up, which I declined. After a while, we chatted again in supercruise and I asked him how he was faring so far. He told me got 35t, I was on 32. Both of us happy, no grieving, no ganking, no PvP, despite us being in a lawless system. Open is not that bad! Long story short, in two trips to that system, I made 74m, exploiting poor NPC traders ^^ It felt like I was playing Assassin's Creed Blackflag :)

As I haven't done so yet, I decided to get my exploration shoes on around Maia. Those Plaeides systems are so much more interesting than the Arieitis (sp?) ones. I think poking my nose arounds these places, has those pesky Thargoids are showing an interest in me. I wonder if they'll blow me up? Can they be scanned like human vessels?

no bud, they seem to enjoy blowing me t9 up. I too was in the Plaeides systems, looking around Cost me 680,000 for sticking my nose in the Ax Conflicted zone :p

So is piracy actually profitable? And do you get punished?

Wiped a save and started new with the latest updates.

I must say, Im progressing waaaay faster than I did the first time around :)

I did some newbie zone missions, got a couple of ships and I've just left that area in a Cobra, looking for a new home and a place to outfit for mining. Time to cash up a little. Im finding that starting again is captivating me more than I thought.

don't know about piracy, but bounty hunters seems completely naff now! , if you get a bounty cr on you and landed at station, and pay them, you still seem to get lobbed into jail.? well I have twice so far.....#

killed a bounty in hi-res and hit one fed ship , jumped out, landed at station in the same system and payed the fine, sent to prison.but still retained the bounty kill Cr ?

I finally made it to the Orion Tourist Center. Taking the economical route from the Witch Head paid off in both discovery data and screen captures! On the way I figured out how to find and exploit geographic signal sources, and was able to collect enough materials for 12 level III FSD boosts, so I think I will continue past Alnilam and collect what I can for this cause.
