You'll know you've achieved basic mastery over the srv when you complete a guardian site. There can be much more to srvs, it appears to me though that you would need to be invulnerable to motion sickness to go down that path.

If you pre-select SRV repair under synthesis in the right hand panel before you start doing stuff then a repair is just two button clicks away in an emergency!
Driving across an over-exuberant geyser is just so much fun and will test your repair skillz on return to terra firma.
I just mined 155 LTDs and then saw Daesitiates had fallen off the 1.7m per buy offer rate. Well...

I got lucky, though. I had stored some diamonds on my carrier the other day when prices were low, and I noticed the high prices just in time yesterday. I only had 115 of them, but I nipped over to sell them and got just under 200 million for them.
LOL.I saw the logjam in that system. If that's representaive of the situation i'm glad i'm nowhere near it.Hopefully things will evolve over the next few weeks and the smart ones will move out of the home ports.I'm thinking to make EA my home port.There's bound to be a couple of carriers on station soon,which will make up for the current deficiencies, but otherwise i'm going to try to avoid them for as long as possible, although i am considering hitching a lift somewhere to the outer regions if there is one available.Don't know how much it would cost,though. And if you are as bad a driver as I am, you will even learn to repair your SRV mid-jump to prevent sudden teleports back to the ship.

Okay FC question...I only play in Solo, yet these things are pretty numerous and belong to CMDR this or CMDR that. Are those actual real commanders FC's that are 'going thru the veil' of Open to Solo? Kinda seems that's the case but just wanted to confirm they are persistent in both?
FCs are like stations or megaships - they "exist in the galaxy" no matter the mode you're playing. So even if you're Solo or Private group, you can dock, trade, even hitch a ride if you want. (as long as the owner permits it)
The owners will be elsewhere but the carriers are universal.
I bought the T7 I've been dreaming about and it turns out it has a huge blemish in the cockpit in the form of a bright yellow led thingy spelling LAKON right in the middle of the dashboard.
It's one of the brighter things in my view and sometimes it overlaps with things on the radar or text on the screen, making it hard to see/read. If that can be disabled somehow, please let me know.
