29 Jumps down, 270 to go!

And that's just the first leg, to Crab Nevula!

Just pushing through systems today, jumping and honking, only stopping to scan and map the pre-selected planets for loot.

Doubled my progress in an hour and a half. I'm shattered though, so that's it for today.

Still, according to the list I've made about 17.2 million so far, and the extra scanning, mapping, landing and bio-scanning probably brings that to more like 20 million, which is 20% oif my target for this leg!

Not much sight-seeing getting done atm, either, but here's Oochost OK-Q C2 1-1 1...

The Vanilla Custard Planet:

Not landable, sadly, otherwise I would absolutely have set down so I could make like an elephant, and leave footprints in the custard!
You could chop some bananas onto the ground and have a lovely dessert. Or some apple pie, crimble crumble...

Man, now I want strudel!

Hmm...

Any idea what this lot are?

As far as I can tell it's not NGC 7822 :D

If you head out towards Jellyfish Nebula from the bubble, get about halfway, turn 90 to your right and travel as far again you'll find a long cluster of systems somewhat like that, all close together and neatly aligned. It's most odd. And possibly an artefact of the Stellar Forge at work.

No idea if what you are seeing is anything similar, though.

I assume that we'll have to be in an administration system to add any new services (such as Vista Genomics) to our Fleet Carriers.

To avoid any crowding issues on the day of release, I've moved my carrier to one such system already. I'm ready for the update! :p

I suppose it will depend on if the interior is an optional and modular thing like the existing stuff added to a carrier in which case I would say you are right.
But if all carriers get exactly the same interiors apart from livery purchases then it could happen the way ships got the extra optional slots a couple of years back with them just having been there all along and we just didn't notice the disembark button until now.

We shall see. I'm fairly certain they won't give away Vista Genomics for free. It will be a paid service like Universal Cartographics, which means it will require installation. I'd love to be wrong, though :)

The Cutter is much faster and easier to fly than the T9,

Honestly, once you've flown a Cutter, it's hard to find a reason to break out the T9 ever again.

Although you can equip the T9 with an FSD from the community goal, if you have one. The range and fast boot are nice, but imo they just don't compensate for how much quicker it is to get a Cutter in/out of a station. Everything you gain on the jumps, you lose while boosting out of mass lock at a lower speed than the Cutter can do without boosting...

I actually fancy a custard tart now, ngl.

I am fond of my T9s, but you are right the Cutter has the edge in a hauling race. The main disadvantage of the Cutter is how bright the cockpit can be which can make things difficult.

Another part of the problem is the Cutter being hideous. I'd rather end up in the rebuy screen than let anyone see me flying it.
I like the aesthetics of it, it's way out of my price range rn plus I don't nearly have enough rank to get access to one neither, that being said I may opt for the corvette since that is a beast. I'm not offered many navy missions though...
