Tweaked my vette and my whack'em all conda a abit with the new MCs Ibring back.

BTW, those rocks in the belt look like flying pooooo :poop:

I got my new Cutter's engineering to "pretty good" status, just a couple more things I want to do. It's running very well.

The current CG is offering very high profit margins, so I'm going to do some of that and make back the money I spent on my new ride. I only had time for 2 runs so far today, but each run was worth 29.8 million credits. Not too shabby.

Boring screenshot of me selling stuffs for big buckses:

Well, that was a massive screw up but I wasn't that well warned...

Took a settlement raid mission, low threat. Landed a couple km away out of sight, did notice that there were some System Authority vessels hanging around (even though these are supposed to be criminals occupying this settlement), thought they were leaving. Noticed that there were several sentry skimmers here (which I didn't expect for a Low Security settlement). Thought I could take them on.

As I went to try and sort out the skimmers, the System Authority ships found my ship and destroyed it. Couldn't take out a single skimmer or anything before my SRV got took out too...

I'm just glad I could afford the rebuy.

Even low threat settlement raids can go terribly wrong in moments.

What works best for me is a stealthy approach. If I can get the alarms offline, then it's much easier to clear the place, and skimmers aren't a problem. When you're vastly outnumbered, it helps to contain things so you don't have to fight a bunch of NPCs at the same time.

I've died a fair few times doing these, but they are exciting and fun anyway. I'm always chuffed when I manage to take out a whole settlement without alarms, and no fights. I've managed it a few times ;)

This, about a thousand times. Disable alarms first, treat it as a covert mission until you've turned everything off. Only then start escalating to the preferred direction.

I've spent the last two evening fully mapping a system of 9 bodies.

It was only supposed to take an hour.

But between them those 9 planets had 9 bio-signals.

6 on the one planet...

There are 4 of them in this shot:

The grey/white slime at my feet, the greenish fungal brain mounds, the brown tussoky things, and the big spiral shrooms.

Two evenings and I can find no trace of the other two.

Buggrit, time to move on:

So I'm still barely beyond 10% of the way to Crab Nebula.

Still, there's only 7-8 planets to map over the next 60 jumps, so as long as I stick to that I should get back on track tomorrow!

What dafug is this! I got interdicted FIVE times by the same damn NPC on 1 single SC trip to Macdonald station.

Isnt there some cooldown to the interdiction? Did they change it?

5 bloody times... and the last one was under 1000km from the station at the split second before I hit J to exit SC.

This is normal if you submit and run away. If you don't submit and win the interdiction mini-game then the NPC either doesn't try again or there is a very long delay in them trying again (I have never had one try again in that situation).

A thank you from all the other commanders who had relatively quiet trips due to your sacrifice.

There is a cool down for your FSD I never heard of one for when you don’t beat the Interdiction or destroy the Interdictor.

Did they change it?
Not recently.

I don’t know the station so can’t say if that is excessive or not but getting an interdiction that close is annoying as it usually means you will be a lot further away after you have won the fight.

There are various ways to mitigate the problem,
  • Don’t carry cargo or take missions, this can have an adverse effect on play style.
  • Don’t fly down shipping lanes or the orbital plane.
  • Fly in a spiral, if they can’t get behind you they can’t interdict you.
  • Fly the right ship, some ships seem much easier to defeat an interdiction in the T7 is surprisingly good at this.

It's normal if you just jump right back to supercruise and don't win the interdiction, yes. It's been that way forever.

Speaking of interdictions, when flying the T9 I sometimes lose the mini-game, it's just such a slow turning boat. So I was kinda hoping I'd have a chance to try an interdiction while in the new Cutter.

I only got interdicted one time so far, and I was able to win it much more easily than in the T9. So, yay :)
