I'm watching "How to survive ganking" videos

Yesterday I was grinding combat rank to get that final Elite, and scavenging mats for engineering in my Vette at a CNB. Sometimes I meet other CMDRs at CNBs and Haz Res in open, and even though I play in VR and therefore haven't found a way to communicate, I have tried on several occasions that we just hook up and bounty hunt the same ships. That's pretty fun.
On my way back to Jameson (one jump), I noticed that the jump took very long time and that the screen went strangely greenish. Once I arrived, Shinrarta seemed stuffed with "hollow signals" on my radar. I don't mind being ganked, so I just went towards Jameson, and once I got close to the station I was pulled, and submitted as I have learned to do.
First I was only met by the typical chromed FDL, but soon (Amy soon) after two more arrived, and my shield started dropping like that guy jumping out of the balloon, so I decided to wake out. Then I found out that I couldn't because my FSD was rebooting. Honestly I haven't tried that before so I got confused and "died".
Turns out after reading and watching videos, that it was probably because of a missile from one of the gankers with a FSD Interrupt experimental, maybe even a Containment Missile. Those are pretty nasty to deal with, except that I had two Point Defences mounted, and they normally keep most missiles at bay.
Afterwards I banned the guy killing me, but that was just me being stupid due to adrenaline rush, so next time in game, I'll try and unban him and see if I can find him (et al) again. The only thing I need now is a way to survive such a situation, and I haven't found it, except for maybe a faster ship than the Vette. I was looking for new challenges in ED. I guess I found one. Nice!
