Interesting!I decided to head over to HIP 22460 to watch the fireworks for a bit. I've never seen a capital ship fighting Thargoids.
I wasn't sure what to expect in the CZ, and I don't have a ship set up for fighting Thargoids, so I just took my Vulture. It has good shields and hull, and I wasn't planning to actually fight. I just wanted to witness the event.
It was quite a spectacle. I docked at the Bright Sentinel at first, to get my bearings.

After looking around the place a bit, I headed for the High Intensity CZ nearby, where a capital ship was fighting. When I arrived I could see the battle taking place.

The place was swarming with Thargoids, but they didn't notice me at first. I flew around just taking it all in for a while.

Eventually some of the scouts noticed me and attacked. I was fast enough to outrun them, but they still tagged me with some caustic stuff and my hull began to disintegrate. You can kinda see the caustic stuff on my ship here, although the shot is dark.

I decided to jump out at that point. I made sure to overheat myself at the first star, to burn off the caustic stuff. I survived.

So, some pretty exciting stuff going on over there. I'm not sure where it all will lead, but it's interesting.
If everybody actually heads back over there, I'll head home, get the Challenger and head that way as well. Maybe we could all hook up and take 'em on.Interesting!
My Krait II has been fitted out for fighting scouts, what with AX MCs and decomp limpets etc. I may scoot over.
Yeah, sorry, but that's incorrect. It just increases the chance that the cores you find are the given material. But it definitely increases the amount of cores you find.
AbsolutelyYup that's true...I stand corrected. But increasing the amount of hotspot labled cores is a good thing. Nothing worse than identifying one as bromellite etc
Those are really cool pictures, seeing the firepower up-close of an Interdictor or Farragut Class battle cruiser, very rare indeed. I noticed some of those Anti-Xeno guys don't run shields, they use repair limpets and AFMU's (got lots of mats and frees up power). I wish I was there, I'd be right in the middle of it being a n00b. Don't care how many times I got killed, unless they capture me and sew my head on a Chihuahua body.I decided to head over to HIP 22460 to watch the fireworks for a bit. AX pilots don't use shields because they use a combination of silent running, heat sinks and thermal vent beam laser to keep heat signature under 20% so Thargoid Interceptors cannot target them to shoot at them. No amount of armour and shields will stop the fire power of top tier Thargoid Interceptors. Repair and possible decontamination limpets are to patch up a bit if they do manage to hit you. Silent running is also to heat the ship to 150% to burn off acid as an alternative to decontamination limpets. Those are really cool pictures, seeing the firepower up-close of an Interdictor or Farragut Class battle cruiser, very rare indeed. That dog has spooky eyes, nicely groomed though.
The fitting UI.... cannot comment on EDO, but EDH, definitely pain in the butt~!...Switching it over every time is a nuisance.
Is that dog related to you? Kind of a resemblance, must be the jaw line.
