The old GTX960 starts to lag pretty bad on planets and in bases. I've been over this before. I'm not doing something in low res settings. Ever. I'll wait till I can do it in ultra like everything else.

I see an interesting place to fly my Scarab...OKOK I want you two CMDRs both stare into the blue patterns and tell us everything you perceive now, get it all out. I see a teddy bear. And a sparrow!
I may reach AG Carinae tonight. I'm deep on into Thailoae area now. The biggest unknown risks are yet ahead and my long trip approaches half way, so far with all one lives remaining.

I had a 980ti a little while back and it ran EDO fine until it died. I put a 1050ti in in its place and it was quite bad.

Processor. The 980 had a much better processor. The 980 is a far superior card to the 1050. Actually, my old EVGA GTX960 SSC 4 GB is better.
Yeah the XX50 series cards are budget grade at best. I had a 1650+ that played Horizons OK but I upgraded before Ody released. I ended up gifting it to a friend so he could play Odyssey and it worked ok for him but some settlements were still very problematic. He also had an older i5 CPU.

They also came out with new 3050 cards now. My 1050ti was running horizons very well at 960p last year when I began. Now for some time I had a GTX 1660 on a WQHD (2560x1440) monitor, plus Odyssey - all in all, using some fairly conservative quality settings. But what I also mean to say is at 1660 totally smokes the 1050. Today I think those 3060 or 3070 cards coming down to MSRP now, they are tugging my purse strings mighty hard personal like. I'm gettin a little clammy and thinking of the most wonderful justifications

My 2060 is straining w/Odyssey on Ultra presets w/o scaling at 1440p, but still very much playable. Maybe I can get an upgrade next year...
