After 8 months of play, i've finally setup some key bindings for on foot missions!

Can anyone give me some tips, for some simple missions to get started?
I've only done the training mission so far.

Thanks in advance,

Mark, erm I mean Kram :)
(in case you don't know, you have to disembark and go to a terminal mission board or NPC on the concourse to get foot missions. When completed, you can turn them in at the ship mission board.)

Delivery Missions are the easiest and take the following forms:
  1. Retrieval 1- Go to a settlement, find a locker, etc, use the code to open it, get the item and bring it back.

  2. Retrieval 2 - Go to a settlement, find an NPC, get the item from them and bring it back

  3. Delivery - Take an item to a settlement and give it to an NPC
These will get you used to being in settlements. Beware of the guards, they want to scan you and you can get a fine/shot at if you don't let them.

When do you not want to be scanned? If you have cloned a security profile of an NPC or have stolen goods/data on your person...

Hint: Use the terminals at the settlement to find NPCs and Locker Locations...

ETA: and what Tyres said below...

I would do a few transport missions first, just to get the feel of it. Then perhaps salvage ones from crash sites and wrecks.

Don't carry an e-breach into occupied settlements

Don't move while a guard scans you

Watch out for scavs at wrecks and crash sites

Edit: ninja'd somewhat :D

  • You need mats.
  • Don't worry about getting creamed by NPCs at first. Even harmless scavs are devious bar stewards sometimes.
  • Take your time
  • You need mats. Seriously.
Lastly - for now anyway - don't hesitate to ask away here.
