Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Looks like I have my work cut out for me... 😉
I found combat was the fastest with the other two showing up a year or two later.
Note my progress was probably atypical as I rarely did missions and didn’t persevere with the road-to-riches, I did do a lot of bounty hunting CGs though, remember if going for combat rank if you have an active fighter pilot they will steal half your progress.

From the Frontier API and us. If you run certain plugins while you play, it sends the data to them and updates it. That has its advantages and disadvantages though.
The disadvantage is it lets people know where the good deals you have discovered are which can lead to the locusts swarming in.

I've no need for that at the moment as I'm sure the Dolphin probably has about 20 loos on it for the use of any pax travelling in it. (I'm not carrying any of those troublemakers right now though.)
The loos will be part of the passenger racks, after all you don’t want passengers to have access to your ship.

Thanks for the replies.

This is my current Mav suit which is great for general thievary but lacks the quiter footsteps.

Another of those instances where being able to move mods around would be most bodaceous.

Is mostly useless since you are already as silent as you can be when crouching. I guess it helps if you don't like to crouch, but there's better mods to have (in my opinion).

Hmm - didn't know that was ineffective! I'll stick with what I have then :D

Well maybe it makes ya feel more like a ninja waltzing than an army guy sneaking, even if that is psychosomatic. --I'm sure I don't know; I'm naive, just playing intuitively

But my new P-15 with noise suppressor is psychokinetic! Good karma!

I swapped it in for a P-15 with headshot damage, that my executioner also has. But I'd swap it for one with audio masking or work on adding it later. That's my outside gun!!

I came back to this but was just about as happy with a tormenter and no long gun. Which also may have no basis on paper but definitely feels more sneaky.

I am considering giving TCE MkII another try* - you can use that to track markets without sharing your data with EDDN.

* It uses overlays so needs Elite running borderless which seems OK now, some time ago borderless really loaded the GPU, almost as if Elite was mining - so I stopped using TCE.

Combat doesn't work that well for me. My old 360 Gamepad is a little limited in input possibilities, which hampers my flight control quite a bit. Having to press the left stick while steering your vessel to switch to lateral thrusters and back to yaw is not working well in a tight fight. More than once happened to me that I accidentially activated it while attempting a tight turn and wondered why the heck suddenly the yaw did not work anymore.
Took me some time until I found the culprit in the settings. I had to deactivate these "alternate" settings to get rid of that issue, as there simply are not enough buttons on this thing to use this properly.

Been down in wosname, Tapa, Topa, Tupa or some such.
Heard they had some security issues down there.
They even sent the whole system into Lockdown.
And Lockdown's bad for business. It is known.
Thought I'd lend them a hand to fix that.
Took out my Railaconda and dropped into some pirate activity that was so large that my sensors picked it up from 300k Ls away.
Spent ~150 tons of fuel for plasma slugs and made only 10 million in bounties.
The bounties per pirate were high, but not excessively so, because those pirates ate a lot of damage until they blew.
Decided to pack my Chieftain full of frags to speed up the process.
But when I returned in my Chieftain, the ships left in that cluster of pirates were suddenly small and weak.
Maybe the strong ones knew it was time to go when they saw my frag Chieftain dropping in.
To make things worse, the pirates were intermingled with far too many clean ships.
Accidentally got one of those clean ships - and it was too weak to survive in such a harsh environment - what with all them pirates and frag rounds flying about and such, you know?
It was an accident!
Yeah, well, er, OK, two accidents, to be precise.
Because the clean ship had a clean team mate.
I could see that he had a good reason to attack me, so I ignored him even when he was firing at me.
See, the flight logs show that I did not fire back at him for several minutes, while I continued to attack legitimate targets.
Unfortunately, he kept attacking me while I was in a battle with other ships.
And it's hard to remember not to fire at hostile ships when you're in a battle.
So I took that one down as well - and also very accidentally, I might add.
Yes, officer, that's how it happened.

combat jobs for npc pirates, Seem to lost a lot of interest in Geo cache for silly plants., has they don't seem to pay alot.yes i still do a few FCZ but even them are low payee now. Gone are the days of triple void opals searches, and the game seems to get a lot slow in achievements accolade's.

so i got my anaconda kit up to be a killing pirates npc machine.

This is why I don't take frags into a combat zone.

They are not that effective, either.
Not against those heavy Anacondas in a level 7 pirate activity zone.
Tried again today and started to ram them first to conserve ammo.
That worked very well, but it took a long time to rack up a puny 6 million in bounties.
A well, next time, I'll go back to the Conda on Rails.

Just got back.

This is off topic for the game, but on topic for "what are you up to".

Today is the first anniversary of my best friend's death from covid last year. I met him when I was 15 years old. Knew the guy for 40 years. We used to ride our motorcycles a lot together, so today I got out my old Vmax and ran the old route we'd taken so many times over the years through the mountains of North Georgia.

Took this picture after I filled up this morning down the street from the house.

Blue skies, the leaves are turning, nice and cool (temp's in the high '60's to low '70's) and not many people out and about today.

It was a perfect day.

Watch out for the wet leaves.

Sorry to hear that Marvin. My condolences.

I am reading conflicting info on the footsteps thing though. Hmm.
It's possible my info is wrong. I don't know how you'd even test it.

That is a very fine looking bike. It's been some years since I rode, but there was a time when I always owned a bike of some kind. Sorry about your friend.
