Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Well, mines on numpad 4. Coz, y'know, logic n' stuff.
I always like to punk right handers whenever I get the chance by letting them try my computer out. Everything is reversed. Mouse is actually left handed, sits on the left of the keyboard, the right click is their left click and vice versa.

The keyboard is also mapped backwards. WASD are the arrow keys. F12 is F1, F1 is F12.

I sit and laugh while they rage about how on earth I can possibly operate that way.

Hey, I have a couple left handed hammers, I can't use them. You want them?

Yeah. They've completely screwed up mining. It goes beyond RNG. They've intentionally done something to mess it up.

Headed out to a Platinum hot spot again.

Guess what?

No platinum. Mostly just Palladium and Osmium.

So I got frustrated and went to a Painite hot spot to try my luck there.

Guess what? Go on, guess.

No Painite. Now I'm getting mostly Platinum.

I'm sorry, but when your so-called "HOT SPOTS" have none of the material in it that it's supposed to have, that's not RNG. That's either an intentional nerf or an unintentional screw-up of EPIC proportions.

And for the record, folks, this is roughly 5,500 LY away from the bubble in a system nobody but me has ever been to.
Laser Mining? If so...are the hot spots in an inner "Metallic" ring?

While I have found some with nothing recently...I'm, seemingly, having good luck with Platinum laser mining hot spots in inner "Metallic rings...My carrier is parked at one now and I'll be mining again in my next play session...

For flashlight.

Who would have ever thought that? ;)
Mine is T, for torch, even though I'm not British :)
You laugh, but I do have a pair of left handed scissors, a left handed Smith & Wesson M&P 45 and a left handed deck of cards.
I'm left handed also, but I do many things right handed anyway.

I eat and write with the left hand, throw with the left hand, grab stuff with the left hand first, my left hand is the strongest, but I use the joystick in my right hand, and use the typical WASD on keyboard.

I'm just generally kind of messed up :)

Yep. Tried rocky too. Same results. It's even hit core mining. Go to a Monazite hot spot, no Monazite. You'll find everything else, but no Monazite. Go to a Serendibite hot site, you'll have a good shot at finding some Monazite.

It is all completely bonkers.
Its gotten so I don;t even bother looking at non inner ring hot spots and I don't bother with single ring bodies any more either.

I'm sure they'll fix it, Of course we could always look for, or create, a bug report for it.

I gave up on the bug reports when after the 2nd straight major update they still can't figure out how to save our galaxy map settings, namely LEAVE THE DAMN SYSTEM CONNECTORS OFF!!!

I mostly have as well, because the Issue Tracker is ridiculous (and it's buggy as well).

The System Connectors problem is on there, it's acknowledged, and voted on, and everything. Still no fix, or even a mention about it by FD.

They fix what they want to fix it seems, regardless of what we think is important.

They also tend to break other stuff when fixing things, so maybe it's all for the good.

They'll fix the connectors issues and then...suddenly, something else that seems entirely unrelated will be broken. It's been the pattern for years.

So I try not to dwell on it cuz it doesn't help! :)

I still have faith in it, at least to the extent that I do all I can with it and hope the rest works out. I'm not disappointed with it yet, but more because Its really out of my control.

That's really the best you can do right there anyway.

Remember it happened to me not so long ago, I went to at least 3 different hospots in two different systems/rings and couldn't find a single rock of platinium, used two different apps for those hotspots, even going to the highest density, I totally gave up on miming it, I just keep my gear for mining just in case I need to dig some Tritium for the Carrier...

I tried 3 or 4 before I found a good one and now my carrier is parked there...
