What common "basic" zoo animals are still missing from the game?

Umm a petting zoo pack with certain wild animals is something i'm not opposed to. Probably a scenery pack with palyground pieces.

1. Dromedary camel (camel rides?)
2. Highlands cow
3. Patagonian Mara
4. African pygmy goat
5. WE: parrots/lorikeets

These aren't common or widespread at all. There are allegedly 4 zoos in Europe with them, and at most a single remaining facility in the US. I can't imagine the numbers are significantly different for elsewhere in the world.
Thanks for the info, anyway they would a good additions to the game i think...

1- Dromedary Camels (very obvious and widespread)
2- Nile Crocodiles (found in a lot of zoos but maybe after all these crocodilians in the game, people lost their interest in adding them to the game roster)
3- Greater Kudus (I feel that these majestic animals are totally neglected by a lot of people although they are very common and widespread in zoos, I saw them in different zoos in Asia, Europe, and North America)
4- Porcupines (Any species)
5- Baboons (Any species)
6- Sloths (Any species)
7- Red River Hog. (Very common in zoos around the world)
8- Blackbucks.
9- Impalas.
10- More primates in general.
11- Parrots. (Multiple species)
12- Ducks. (Multiple species)
13- More wading and flying birds.
14- Birds of Prey (Multiple species)
15- Petting zoo animals (Rabbits, Goats, Ponies, Alpacas, Donkeys, …etc.)
16- Finally some fish and aquatic species

Two-Toed Sloth - is not common but is iconic animal
African Crested Porcupine (or indian) - common in zoos
Coatimundi - Really common
Greater White Pelican
RedRiver Hogs, Collared Peccarie
Hamadryas Baboon
Swans and Ducks!
Ibis - Scarlet maybe
Spoonbill - Roseatte
Greater Rhea
Patagonian Mara
Squirrel Monkey
Saki Monkey
Chameleons
Lar Gibbon
More snakes like Emerald Tree Boa or Milk Snake
Tamarins!

Yes. I want all of those. Thank you.

I can only speak for European Zoos and own experience but I would say (I exclude flying birds and domesticated animals but include the Alpaca as we have the Lama):
Dromedary Camel
Old World Porcupine sp.
Alpaca
Mongoose sp.
Collared Peccary
Coati sp.
Patagonian Mara
Agouti sp.
Baboon sp.
New world monkeys sp. (Howler, Spider,...)
Wild Boar (only for German Wildparks)
Sloth sp.
Pelican sp.
Goose sp.
Greater Rhea
Blackbuck
Red River Hog

One species i see quite often and that is barely mentioned here is the argentine black and white tegu. Would be a cool habitat lizard thats not a monitor. Also some more representation for SA grasslands

For me:

1) More Monkeys in general
--Howler Monkey species
--Tamarins and Marmosets
--Baboons
--Spider-monkeys
--Langurs
2) Black Rhino
3) Dromedary Camel
4) Sea Otter
5) Coati
4) Lady Amherst's and Golden Pheasants
5) Guinea Fowl
6) A crested penguin species
7) The remaining bear species

1. Sloth
2. Cape/Crested Porcupine
3. Red River Hog - maybe not as much aware of exactly what it is with the general public, but common? Absolutely.
4. 1 or 2 additional New World Monkeys - maybe Howler and Spider.
5. Swan (any species)

I'm not even going to touch on the WE or aviary flying birds. That's a whole other list.

These:
  • Hamadryas baboon.
  • Squirrel monkey.
  • Spider monkey (Geoffroy's first, Colombian second).
As far as zoo staples go that would pretty much round it out at this point.

Guineafowl, Mandarin duck (and other species of duck), Several species of pheasant, Secretary bird, Black swan, Scarlet ibis, Night heron, Ground hornbill, etc etc

In terms of similar really common species I’d say:

  • Common Dwarf Mongoose/Yellow Mongoose
  • White-Faced Saki Monkey
  • Common Marmoset (maybe a walkthrough?)
  • Linneaus’ Two-Toed Sloth (Walkthrough)
  • Southern Tamandua
  • Mantled Guereza
  • Ring-Tailed Coati
  • Greater Rhea
  • Parma Wallaby
  • African Crested/Cape Porcupine
  • African Spurred Tortoise
  • Red-Footed Tortoise
  • Kirk’s Dik-Dik
  • Red River Hog

Probably already mentioned but a muntjac or chevrotain. I would like the last one in particular because of its small size. I think about keeping it with binturong that spend most of its time in Trees. Both are also nocturnal. But does anyone know if a binturong would hunt chevrotain?

Ranked by urgency in my personal opinion:
  1. Pelican
  2. Ground-Dwelling Birds (Guineafowl, Pheasant, Seriema)
  3. Waterfowl (Swans, Geese, Ducks, Cormorants)
  4. Coati
  5. Baboon
  6. Water-Dwelling Birds (Spoonbill, Ibis, Shoebill, Grey-Crowned Crane)
  7. New World Monkeys (Squirrel, Spider, Tamarin)
  8. Sloth
  9. Crested Porcupine
  10. Patagonian Mara
  11. Flying Birds
  12. Fish
  13. Lizards (Chameleon, Gecko, Agama, Tegu, Frilled Lizard)
  14. Muntjac & Chevrotain

I feel like they maybe wouldn’t hunt but definitely would be unsafe to house together. Chevrotains are tiny and Binturong are quite large with big claws.

You are probably right. I also read they are quite shy chevrotain. A binturong might be too intimidating. A shame though . Would have loved the combo.
