What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I'm kind of unsure of what to do next. I want to add a river running through my zoo, but before I do that I need to finish the Africa section (I want all of that on one side of the river), but I'm feeling so uninspired for Africa right now. Yet I know where I want the river to start, which means I can't yet build on the other side of the zoo.

I use the habitat size references workshop item by formtastic to vaguely plan out where I want habitats to go if I'm feeling uninspired for the actual design and build. I usually make them bigger than they need to be so I've got room to move when the time comes but it definitely helps sneak around creative blocks.

Didn't do much today as there was a lot of cycling on the old telebox and it was all really exciting so I kept getting distracted but I did sort out the entrance including welcome and goodbye signs and an info booth. As I was resizing the screenshot to upload here, I realised I clearly forgot that it's a tropical Oceanic biome and not desert but never mind!

Added a mandrill habitat to my Africa section. The idea is that it once housed baboons (and hopefully will again in the future, come on Middle East Pack!), but due to issues around keeping the baboons, they were moved on. This is actually quite common with Hamadryas baboons, as they struggle to maintain their harem system (multiple males in a greater troop, each with their own females) in a zoo environment. Instead, the zoo took on some mandrills. With that in mind, the habitat is designed for more arid-based baboons rather than tropical mandrills, but since it meets requirements it doesn't matter so much. I might throw in a bit more climbing equipment and I still have some work to do on the rockwork (I kind of threw that together), and of course I need to decorate the guest viewing area.

Today I found out someone created the most amazing mod in Planet Zoo history, how I wish I could post a pic or link here. Anyways finally I will be able to built some very realistic natural exhibits and observation areas for my zoo project

That is one of the most helpful workshop items I have ever seen. I need that.

Funnyliy enough, I just build an african penguin habitat with underwater viewing in less than two hours - which is highspeed for me. I just realized I had an uper level in Wingburg near the sea lions and could very well build the pool on ground level and the land area on upper level. Fun fact: I have been avoiding Wingburg for weeks, because I knew a penguin habitat with underwater viewing was next. LOL.

By the way, I'm expanding my "change it up" month and play instead of write in the morning. I am really on a roll with Planet Zoo and it feels good making such progress. Especially since all three zoos are still far from being as finished enough as to switch breeding and aging back on and I want baaaaaaaaaaabies finally :D
Also, played a lot during my vaccation last week. Mostly Unity.

I made some progress on my current zoo which also has a name now: Geller Zoo.

Entrance. I feel like it was missing something "grand" so I added this large elongated cover. The surroundings still need a lot of work, namely foliage, but I will get to that eventually.

This is a WIP dual habitat with babirusas and warthogs, just behind the fallow deer habitat. I'm going for the same style for both habitats, something that would have been built all together and then split into two habitats.

Improvised small aviary for the kookaburra. The birds are from the workshop (I think it's Drac's bird pack - one of them, I know they have a few bird packs on the workshop).

Opposite to the aviary is the lynx habitat. I think this is probably one of my favorite builds I've ever made. The terrain is different in elevation, they have a pond, climbing stuff, and a cave that acts as their shelter, and a walk in space for the visitors.

Top down view of the zoo so far. There is a tortoise habitat to the left. It was meant to be a small, filler habitat, but I don't like it, and I'll probably change it all together or just put something else there.
