What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Depending on the building pieces, I will start a new franchise zoo today when I come home from work. I think I'm definitely going with the farm like zoo (as much as its possible given the animal selection), and I'm leaning heavily to make it a zoo in autumn. Man, I know it's a small detail, but I do love the pumpkins that are coming with the pack. My only gripe with this idea is that I won't be able to use the leopard because ya know...a farm zoo doesn't exactly have big cats, lol.

Maybe a local resident has one as a pet? Illegally, of course, so you take it.
Or, maybe a conservation group sends you one?

Now that we have info and gift counters I was able to quickly finish this off - been holding onto the design till we got them. Pretty happy with the result!

Back again at Green Glades for the release of 1.10 and the Conservation Pack! Even though my general preference for habitat building is to lean toward more natural vibes, I actually really like these new climbing-frame pieces for the Siamang brachiation. Sometimes things in zoos have to be a little more function over form! Anyway, here's my Siamang and Orangutan habitat! I wanted to build the rest of the enclosure around the brachiation frame so that went down first, and everything else then followed suit!

I really enjoy making habitats for climbing animals. Something about the variance in levels you can play around with really gets the creative juices going for me.

I like how some angles make the habitat look way more dense with the foliage than it actually is when you see it from above!
I've got the arboreal feeding platform up on this as I like to see the climbing animals eating at a bit of height - as long as you have a ramp up to it that a keeper can traverse, it works a treat.

There's also a little peek into the dholes along the path here. This path currently leads to a dead-end - it's the little round plaza up in the first pic with the lamp-post - but I might end up extending the path around a little more and connecting it up somewhere else. That's all undecided so far, though!

And the last of my current screenshots to share: the overview of this area! I just have those last two habitats down at the bottom-right, and then I can move onto building up the rest of this zone with all the little details. Once I've done that it'll be down to the left to work on the colder part of the Asia section, and then I'll hop over to another region in Green Glades. Probably the NA section as I already have a couple habitats in that direction that could do with some company!

I'm going to jump in tonight when the baby goes to bed. I have a vague idea for a zoo entrance and what I want my first two habitats to be (badgers and prairie dogs) and a restaurant, and then I think I'll start with the siamang.

Feeling a bit more focussed today and returned to my main project, fortunately it seems to be working ok as it kept crashing.

The Przewalski's horse are a better fit for this zoo than the lechwe and meerkat enclosures which were on the site of this paddock. I switched the wooden panelled buildings to stone and concrete.

I also started playing around with grass roofs but I didn't have too much time. This is the reindeer enclosure.

As usual for this zoo, credit to Lider and Zoof for various bits and pieces which I have used, they are amazing.

Welp, stepped on a piece of glass today, but for some reason that gave me some inspiration for what to do in my zoo🤣.

I plan on making 3 (4 if you include entrance) sections in my zoo:

1. Entrance area, also featuring gray seals

2. Australia - it'll have all 6 Australian species

3. Children's Zoo - featuring animals from warm climates in Africa (as an excuse for the oryx and the new education stuff)

4. Southeast Asia - to use the gibbons and all that jazz

Gimme a mixed habitat for Asia, thank you
