What do you miss from Alpha/Beta?

When the copyright text actually appeared on the screen seamlessly, instead of the logo screen cutting to black for a split second, and then the text suddenly appears on screen.
And before anyone says so, I know this is a weird choice.

The beta 1 flight model ( skidding around even in fa on ). No artificial bleed in fa off. Fish! Old sound effects. And our little corner of space when we only had a few places to fly. And the pre patch shooting mayhem!
 
Don't think its been mentioned - I really miss ing betty the drunk pad allocator who would take an hour to actually allocate you a pad and then when you were gear down and just about to land would decide to cancel your approval and reallocate your pad
.
I do wonder which (siberian type) frontier station she has been allocated to so I can go see her again.........................

I miss the FD Zealots jumping down anyones throats if they said a bad thing about the game ... wait, still happens

I miss whiners whining about whiners ... wait, still happens.

I miss dreaming about an amazing game ... wait, that's star citizen.

I miss people using EvE as some kind derogatory term .. wait, still happens.

I miss caring about this community ... wait, I still don't care.

Has to be the community. Every one was so positive and really excited about what was to come. Now the forums are all complaints and even some of the early backers have become jaded.
 
Other commodities. I'm fairly sure in Mission Testing we saw things like Wood, Wool, etc. that pointed to a potentially much larger range of commodities for the final live game. I always thought the list we ended up with paid homage to the original game but lacked the bredth and depth of a true trading system. I'm somewhat hopeful once they fix the combat stuff, and building more ships, and rolling out PP that FD will go back to trading (and mining and exploring) and give it a buff.

Running frosty into a station to evade the sensors/scanners.

Also dropping 20Km out from stations, with a 15km run to the safety of the no-fire zone and vulnerable to being picked off by pirates or bounty hunters.

Almost guaranteeing a letterbox collision every fourth run because the AI NPC ships always seem to launch or enter in a flotilla anytime a CMDR went near it. And then the NPCs dawdled through at a pace that would have seen a CMDR turned to toast by station defences for loitering.

Dropping out of SC at about 20km from the station. A lot of gameplay emerged from that.

Edit: And also The Relentless, the Galactic Intelligence Agency & the Elite Palawa - I miss those guys.

I really hope they bring that back now that the AI is able to give chase. I've had a couple of fights in the no fire zone so far and I pulled off my first assassination mission out side a station and had to deal with the security too. Excellent experiences.
 
I miss trying to help a fellow commander recreate a bug at Beagle 2 that required me to be destroyed several times. Upon death I would leave the station and be unable to see him, leave the station and watch him vanish and re-appear every 5 seconds or leave the station and either me or him had had a CTD incident.......happy days!
