What happens when you die in Odyssey?

You'd exit 1st person view and enter 3rd person mode where you'd see the drone projecting your avatar flying back to your ship... as you're no longer being projected via telepresence, you'd find yourself back in your ship.

This is just a wild guess, of course.

The burning question for me is: if i kill someone space-legging, can i then board their ship and drop a turd on their command seat?

Logically if they die their ship shouldn't despawn, so make this happen plz Fdev!

Maybe they'll simply treat it as "incapacitation". I.e. there's a fail-safe on your suit that will knock you out before you actually die of asphyxiation or over-exposure or whatever.
Then you'd be conveniently transported back to the nearest med bay, etc.

Suppose for bullet wounds and other serious injuries it's a bit of a stretch, but they could still use that same excuse.

But muh immurshon.
Ah, I see where you're coming from

Imagine what will happen when we get ship-legs - the immersionistas will require that we have to run for the Escape Pod - and chances are some won't make it. Oh the lols.

Edit: Though I wouldn't object to addition of a super-ironman mode that does just that - not that I would play in it :)

You see your commander's life flash before your eyes. Seconds later, slow fade to black. Growling sounds come from your speakers. The screen comes back, but distorted, blurry. You see your character struggle to rise, unsteady. You stagger forward a few steps. You hit "3rd person view" and seeing yourself, you realize ……

You are now a zombie...and must eat brains.

Does anyone else think that the appearance of the "Vitadyne Nanomeds" a couple of moths ago might just have something to do with this????????

Still I think that there will need to be some poetic licence used in the survival mechanism used to resurrect the player after he/she has been torn into thousands of pieces by a well aimed Packhound....

(edit for spellig (sic.) )
