What HUD colours do you use?

Trying to pick one

Dr K's one looked sweet but I found it hard to distinguish between ally, neutrals and threats.

I am looking for one with minimum impact to the portrait, distinct colours for the three unit colours and VR friendly... Orange being probably the least!

Thanks!

Standard HUD colours.
I will experiment with colours when/if we get an in game way to change the colours that is more flexible than the current method.
But the standard orange looks perfectly fine too.

I use the stock orange. I've tried others which look cool but do not like the lack of control over specific HUD elements thus they are all the same color. That IMO makes it more difficult to scan the information especially in combat. Still many change the colors and do OK.

Stock - looks nicer than any of the others I have seen or tried imo and the radar still works. I didn't really see any improvments from changing the HUD colour either.

I use one of the white/orange schemes from No2O - just can't remember which of the three I've set, but probably J.Dee's "Orange Slate".

I don't like blue/green since I usually play in the evening, and those psychedelic colours are worse than the original.

Oh, and give DrKaii's EDProfiler a try if you want to switch around colours.

Stock here also. If I am going on a journey (because I lost my mind) I'll try a few, however when in combat I like stock because this old fart can see the fuzz better. o7

Wow, lots of stock users. Changing your HUD definitely increases the perceived res so I really recommend it.

I use this one, NPC portraits are unchanged, enemies/heat etc are still red and the blue and yellow is nice on the eyes and makes sense to me.

Standard HUD colors.

Ask me again when Frontier adds an ACTUAL method to customize our HUDs, as opposed to the color hack. As much as I'd prefer a different color than the default orange, especially to improve visibility in VR, I don't like the side effects.

Inreresting thread!

I use the stock orange, but i also tryed some colours, but like other stated, i dont like some side effects, and serioulsy, after several hundred hours the orange its totally normal for me now :)

I would also prefer a "HUD color Slider with picture" or something in options which ONLY affect the hud elements.

What's wrong with using the hack? Do it through ED Profiler and it's a doddle

Whats wrong with the hack?

1. It's not changable from within the game
2. It often affects the colour of NPC faces in the station menus
3. It often messes up the friendly and hostile colours on the radar
4. Its an all or nothing approach.
5. Single HUD elements cannot be targeted

Its pretty poor, dispite how easy it is to do.

fair points, but there are colour schemes available that minimise these, and the trade off in reduced god rays and pin sharp text is worth it. Though you are right, FD should have added it in game by now.
