We're not in disagreement here. The smoke and mirrors are rather well implemented.All transitions but hyperspace are visually continuous
I'm just saying, in video games trees generally don't make a sound, in fact they won't even fall in the forest if there's no player around to hear it. With Cobra engine I have seen no evidence to it being an exception. It's not really running a live full galaxy down to the grain of sand scale, it's doing a good job creating that illusion, but that's hardly reason to raise it on a pedestal when similar could be achieved using other commercial game engines.
