Well it's like this Riverside, the Government (in this case FD) made the decision to remove all the old radios because the old radios didn't fit into the Government's new communication policy. They haven't denied anyone the ability to listen to the radio, because everyone, even those who didn't own a radio before, can now listen to the radio through the new smart TV. Yes there will be some who miss the old radio, because that is all they have known and new technology scares them. Others resent the Government making a decision without personally asking them. Yet others haven't even turned on the new TV to see if they can use the radio but will proclaim to all via Letters to the Editor that the new TV/Radio combination is terrible. But the thing some are forgetting is the new TV does more than just also play the radio, it can tell you were other things are in the neighbourhood, something the old radio could never do.
Finally there are some who are demanding to own both the old radio and the new TV, but the Government has decreed that isn't possible under their communications policy.
That other government should be done forming in about 6-10 years. You can buy a picture of your TV carrying case right now though!
The analog radio and TV are not coming back since the last vacuum tubes were used as decorations last Christmas![]()

Because the government says so? Because people don't know what's good for them? This isn't good justification Mooka, you are implying oppression & condoning it. Apply Occam's razor here, is it oppression, or simple oversight?
The telly is fine Mooka, but it doesn't do something the old radio did. It's really easy to understand & you are having to contort your justification into the obscene in order to justify what's probably just a simple mistake.
You & I both had a radio, you & I both got a telly. As it turned out there was no need to take the radio away so I argue those that want to keep their radio should be able to. You don't have to keep yours, other people keeping their radios isn't going to affect you.
Well yes the government say so, it is as simple as that. They decided on their course of action for everyone, not for individuals, it is really that basic.
