Discussion What is the most efficient way to crowdsource the 3D system coordinates

LAUMA System

A few months ago (like March) it was reported that there were two systems called LAUMA. I think this has now been addressed by FD. Unfortunately, the LAUMA we had is the one that's been renamed and the current LAUMA is not in EDDB / EDSC / EDSM .

OLD:
LAUMA -121.25, -99.4025, 9.1875

NEW:
DEIVE -121.25, -99.4025, 9.1875
LAUMA 16.8125, -43.8125, 38.59375

I see DEIVE is in EDDB with duplicate old coords for LAUMA. I haven't checked EDSC or EDSM.

I have updated my System.csv for TD users.

Cheers,
Maddavo

Reseted the coordinates for Lauma: http://www.edsm.net/show-system/index/id/11283/name/Lauma

Deive need some love: http://www.edsm.net/show-system/index/id/184235/name/Deive

That was the good old days ;)

Absolutely !! Its more two years after a certain aggressive animal with large claws created this thread. It was an astounding ride. Lots has happened. It was unbelievable to see how very passionate commanders came up with sometimes really brilliant ideas of to calculate 3D star coordinates from distances to stars. Despite every obstacle which came along, like FD changing the resolution in the in game menus, they never gave up. Quite a few obstacles actually. It all accumulated in tools like Red Wizards calculator , the now defunct TGC (The Great Collector), and the still alive and kicking EDSM. We finally got mid this year 3D coordinates for systems in the (debug)netlogs and now in the Journal Log. Third party tools are getting a fresh new start with all the data ;-) I truly HOPE that FD will continue to improve the Journal LOG, Companion app API AND hopefully a real API.....

Holy necros, you could have waited a couple of weeks to make it an even year :D

EDIT: Oh wait, they have the day first right? I though it was a funny date like in the US. Why doesn't everyone use ISO 8160 lol YYYY-MM-DD, there ya go no more confusion, doh! :)
