My Asp Explorer (which is fully A Rated, and has shields, weaponry and armour (just in case, you understand)) is called The Curious Cricket. She and I are currently meandering around exploring, and we have three untagged ELWs (so far) to hand in when we get back.

It is a joke we have. My friends are always looking for epic names while I just call anything as Bob
Asp Explorer - Bison Oasis
I have a naming system;
Non-combat oriented ships all have the surname "Oasis" and a first name involving an animal or creature that has bulky or lumbering qualities: Bison Oasis (AspX), Mammoth Oasis (Type 7), Titan Oasis (will be for Type 9).
Combat oriented ships use the surname "Nomad" and a first name that involves dangerous predators: Saber Nomad (Saber like the tiger, Vulture), Dire Nomad (Dire like a Dire Bear, FAS), Ogre Nomad (will be for Federal Corvette).
Personal ships use plants names involving an animal: Carolina Foxtail (Cobra Mk III) and Arizona Lupine (Anaconda)

A Beluga and I love it. Only ship IMHO that LOOKS like a science ship. Currently 4,000 ly out of the bubble heading to the Lagoon Nebula, Core, then to the right around the Scutum-Centarus Arm back to the bubble. Long trip
