Funny you should say that; for a few weeks her nameplate read Set the Controls but while stopping for snacks at Khun before heading out into the black for a couple of months I made one last trip to the outfitter and decided to drop the shields for the trip, and then decided that name on a shieldless ship thousands of light years away from anything was just asking for it, and I promptly re-dedicated her before heading out.

Sound decision. I had to rename my Python from "Harmless Unless Agitated" to "Usually Harmless" because the outfitter got some silly 22-char rule in from some bureacrat.

I was finally able to name my ship when docked at Jaques. Until that point I just called it "Validating" but now it's called "Neverdunroamin'".
