Should start banning for pointless necro just like half the internet does.

To be fair - they're mainly very fresh users - so it would be a tad unfair*. Threads should just be auto-locked after 6 months inactivity or whatever, like they always were.

Pre-covid days, when there were Elite meet ups, having these ranks allowed you to insist on being addressed by them in person it also got you 10% off at the bar.
The ranks are really like RL military ranks. They are there to make you feel more important than the grunts, but all the while, the grunts know they are more experienced than you because all you've done is run around delivering documents while they've been doing all the real work.
