What is your Elite Quirk?

1. When I scooping or landing on planet, I keep them on top of my screen - much better visibility. Generally it means that I am approaching planet with roof down.

This too, i never have the star or the planet under my ship. On some ships i find that it's better to have the stellar body to your left or right.

This is where I differ. In my head canon, the fuel scoop is not just under the ship but is an actual scoop, so to me it makes sense to have the star beneath me. I just line up the collision line (that yellow line, can't remember what it is officially called) to the bow of my ship. Maybe because I tend to use as large a scoop as I can and refuel every chance I get, i don't tend to spend a long time scooping.

Uhh long list here:

1) Like you, before logging out I always dock to a station and fully repair (paint and integrity too) and refuel my ship.

2) When out in the black exploring I always land on a planet and take a quick tour around the ship with the SRV to ensure there's no hostile signs and then I dock again in the ship. I've never logged out in the SRV.

3) Everytime I dock I refuel (even when this requires only 10cr), fix the paint and the ship integrity.

4) I hate the landing pads magnetic locks: I hate hard landings... I always try to capture the magnetic locks very smoothly, but after all my efforts they smash my ship on the ground!

5) Most of the time I make fuel scooping on the right hand side of the star.

6) I reset very often the VR head position

7) When I land on a planet I always try to keep my surface destination at -40° pitch.

8) I try to avoid boosting when I transport people in First Class.

9) As @Alec Turner, I also honk always and everywhere. It's a kind of muscle memory. When I hear the sound of leaving the Witch Space I'm already pressing the trigger.

At the beginning when I was not familiar with fuel scooping I really thought that I could improve the efficiency by facing the star with a particular side of the ship (I thought it had to do with the vent ports on the top of the ship).

I refuel at any star i can on my journey too. But watching the ship in external cam while scooping you can clearly see how it works., i think at least. The ship when scooping open a series of panels and under them you can see something that looks like solar panels, glowing.

(1) At the end of each session, I just can't log off. Nope, I have to make sure the ship is lowered into the Hangar (put to bed so to speak), it is fully refueled and rearmed, and the paint and integrity have been attended to so both are sitting at 100%. Yes there are times when I can't do this, either out exploring, or the station doesn't have the necessary facilities. So guess what I do, yep I will log on as soon as possible and try to get to a station to make everything 'perfect' again.
I do this (except for note below) although when exploring I will not log off until I find an Earth-like world to orbit (if we could actually land on them, then I'd be doing that).

(4) My fleet has to have purpose. I won't buy a ship if I don't have a use for it or can't think of a good future use. I like using ships in ways not normally though of for that ship. For example, my FdL is now related to running those small chain missions and courier mission. My Krait Mk II is now and will only ever be my miner. I just go rid of my slightly modified Sidewinder that I was using as a taxi because now my AspX fills that roll (it was either the Sidewinder or the AspX, one of them was going lol).
Likewise, all my fleet has to have a purpose. Kali (Viper Mk4) is my bounty hunter and doing missions for the Dark Wheel, Bestala (T9) is my trading vessel, Gudridor II (AspX) is my explorer, etc.

My other quirks:
  • I never repair my paint
  • All my ship names have to be sourced from Pantheon.org
  • Only when I have bought a paint-job for a ship will it not run the risk of being sold
  • I will not grind; I only do something when I want to

Ok, full disclosure. At first I couldn't think of any quirks, because I don't consider them quirks. You see, it's perfectly normal during scooping to have the star on my right and NOT on my left. And at bio or geo sites, the proper way is to land the ship facing the site, of course. Also, when I enter FSS, it's not acceptable to leave any bodies unscanned.
I must stop before I find any quirks...:(

whenever I see a ship hanging at the side of the main traffic route, having it´s engines broken, I knock on wood three times...

I do turn counterclockwise, while turning right, whenever I pass the central star

I am always never satisfied with the outfitting of my ships

I hate having to many unused ships

I am continuously hitting the "g" key, for targeting ships and getting them scanned

I am always honking, even, if I am in combat mode

I am continuously pressing "1" than "4" to check for contacts, powers, ship jumprange

I am checking to have a crew member on board every 2-3 minutes, even if I fly a non-capable ship

I am always doing more missions, than I planned to do, so my wife gets upset

I am continuously setting pips to 4-2-0 from 1-4-1 and vice versa

I am NOT continuously checking the bandwith while playing in open

...oh well... I am definately addicted to this game...
