What is your Elite Quirk?

TLDR most of the posts, but I was a real pilot in real life, so I treat my ship the same way.

1) When landing, I always check the gear is down, (using VA) and sometimes it does not respond, so I have the backup key memorized and ready to do it manually.

Fly safe, Commanders....

Well checking landing gear indicator is kind of automatic thing for me, mostly ingrained habit from flight sims. And landing tends to considerably easier with gear down... :D

I want to burn every square centimeter of the asteroids I shoot with my 2 C2 mining lasers until its depleted. I don't know if it matters but that's what I do.

1. My main one is that I almost literally CANNOT log off with out landing or docking somewhere, to the point it's almost obsessive, lol.

2. I also used to have the quirk that I MUST... MAP... ALL... THE... THINGS..., but after almost 9 months in the deep black on my exploration account, I've finally gotten to the point where I only map ELWs, Terraformable WWs, and anything I land on (see #1), which would normally include anything with Bio or Geo signals.

I forgot to mention one:
When I jump to other system or going into super cruise after pressing FSD jump button I go into outside camera view and front view - AND enjoying beautiful view of my ship and star/base/planet until it jumps - much better than looking at countdown.

Well I've been thinking hard but I cannot find any foible in my gameplay. And in the end, I think it's good that way.

I'm rather stingy so I generally own each ship only once. But it generally has its specific role, maximum two roles where I refit the ship when switching roles.

If I get a reckless driving ticket on my way out, I simply cannot continue until I request docking, fly back in and pay my 100CR fine. 😐

X.

That good Sir is a given, I will turn around and redock as quickly as I can. Really hate flying around with a fine or bounty, just doesn't sit well with the persona of my Commander.

1. If possible store the ship into the hangar and be sure that it's ready to roll out for a Condition-Red-Start. While Exploring, land on a planet.
2. All my Explorers are equipped with weapons. One can never be sure what's out there.
3. Always decorating my cockpit and paintjob (decals) at Helloween and X-Mas (with the latest available shenanigans too)
4. Always Scoop with the sun above me
5. Always entering planetary orbits with the planet facing "up". (it's easier for me to catch the 45° angle for final descent)

I can't understand people needing to store their ship or even worse, land on a planet* for the "night". I mean, if there are dangerous places out there, then those are. Out in the void, you're an unspottable sandcorn, there's no safer place.

*you never know what may live on the planet you just landed on. Ever seen "Pitch Black" or "Prometheus"?

It's my quirk. That's what was asked by the OP. 🤷‍♀️
And yes...I've seen both of them, but I'm not stupid enough NOT to secure ALL bulkheads and for recogonition safty to shut down all nonessential systems before I visit the bunk.
And NEVER EVER do I take "comrades" or even worse "passengers" out of tour with me (okay, the only exception is my cat "Jones" ;)).

I rank grind for specific ships and then read reviews and talk myself out of buying them. Done it for FAS, iClipper, and iCutter, so far. FAS was because I decided on chieftain instead, iClipper because I wouldn't have a use for it and iCutter because I tried the orca and didn't enjoy the handling of large ships.

You have a cat called Jones too? How many of those furry little buggers are there in ships and stations all thru the galaxy? 😼

Noticed two other quirk, both to do with docking

The first is with manual docking, I always approach the pad on as flat a path as possible and the last 20 metres is always 3m/s and about 2 metres above the pad to have it automatically clamp.

The second is with the docking computer which I only use in a type-9. When I come out of supercruise I always set speed to 0, hit boost and then switch to the contacts screen and try and hit the docking request as soon after the distance is 7.5km as possible.
