What is your opionion regarding exiting to the menu and back to collect more material at Dav's Hope and Jameson Crash Site?

I use a macro to both relog and time my laps. I have it down to ~76 seconds per lap (including relog) so in theory that's 23 relogs in 30 minutes or 690 mats.
I've never really timed myself but probably getting similar times - unless I spin round or get stuck anywhere on the way. :)

I do not care one bit.
Everybody should play the game the way he wants to play.
My main issue with it is that IF FD think everyone is happy with that type of game play there is less incentive for them to actually creat more ways of doing these things WITHOUT feeling forced to exploit.
Take that meta alloy CG. That was awful because anyone who wanted to get involved in that CG was literally forced to do the relog dance. IMO it is hard to argue that it would have been more enjoyable gameplay if everyone could get 1 from each source and then just visit the different sites.... (And adjust the totals accordingly ofcourse).
Anyone who claims it was perfectly plausible to be in the top 50% without resetting the instance continually are imo deluding themselves, so there was no choice there other than don't do the CG

Back to davshope better imo to close the exploit BUT reduce the number of mats needed so people get what they need without having to do it (so no one loses out)

I enjoy material gathering from both Dav's Hope & Jameson Crash Site but are to much trouble to get to if I don't re-log. I love the videos you posted.

It's fine with me but how do you feel about it?

Guess it's fine. I don't really like these sorts of exploits being present, it sort of breaks the immersion but on the other hand I'm not hugely fussed and I can quite understand people wanting reliable ways to get hold of stuff. I re-did a couple of Guardian sites and fun as it was that felt a bit exploity. I guess with any thing you rather want a natural way for things to be repeatedly available. We do have that with things like the signal sources but, again, I appreciate hunting those down can get frustrating. Guess better information about where to find what and perhaps improved mat trader rates and better per source payouts would help.. hmm

I agree with you, but these kind of issues have been in the game from the start. I do no longer believe any of this will be addressed ever.
I accept that is what we have, and this is what it will be. I do not even think about it anymore, or question it.

I keep hearing that when it comes to the dev's perspective regarding most of the features of the game is that "It's working as intended". So I guess we have to "Suck it up, buttercup".

Ever since they increased the amount of HGEs I don't use Dav's Hope that much, but I still farm the Bug Killer site for Raw and Encoded.

And I will continue to do so until the mission rewards aren't so unbalanced we need to use farming exploits to do proper engineering.

I tend to feel less need of them than I used to, but they are still pretty time efficient compared to other means of grind (as in searching for something specific or quickly stocking up on trade fodder) and far faster than just wandering to pick things up.

Either way it's what we have and so long as it remains near ideal time wise with the current design and not actually discouraged by FDev I'll continue to assume it's fair game.

FDev Support continues to say "Working As Intended" on most features.

Laziness.. Nothing more. To those that say "But da grind!", well, maybe you are playing the wring game.. Seriously. Not once have I ever felt an urge to relog. Or maybe step away from the entitled attitudes if "I want it now!" - remember Veruca Salt.

As for those saying, it's in the game, it must be OK.. Well, I can park in the mail slot, it's doable in game - doesn't mean I should or that it's appropriate.

Bit of a logic fail there.

If people are okay with doing laps of DH to gain mat's, and the game allows it, what's the problem? 🤷‍♂️

Sure, you can accuse somebody of hypocrisy if they're saying they don't like doing it even though they're doing it but that's not the issue here.

As for what's "appropriate", that's simple. If it's a formal mechanic of the game, it's appropriate.
Go park in the mail-slot if that's what you want to do. (y)

Which is why I didn't do the CG. Relogging is garbage-tier 'gameplay' so I don't do it. Not too concerned about others gaining an advantage as the fundamentally broken balance make such concerns irrelevant, but if sufficient numbers of people do this FD has less reason to fix this part of the game.

I dislike that relogging exists and even sometimes feel the game is in part balanced around this.

If it's about material gathering in Dav's hope i'd prefer it for the items to have a respawn timer. As it is now visiting these locations in open multiplayer or in private group with a friend is pointless if all materials are gone when someone in the instance already scooped them up.

It is similar with guardian sites. I would really enjoy doing these more when there'd be a proper way to do them in multiplayer. But again these appear to be built for a single player and the numbers of materials to gather to unlock anything seem to be balanced around to have to relog.
