Apologies to you but still the game is being daft with the payouts for mining so high at the moment.
Yet i don't see the problem. Sure credits are cheap by now. But it doesn't matter if you have one Corvette or a dozen.
(Or like me, none of them, but a collection of other ships. )
Not only do you only fly one of them, but it matters less than ever before, how much credits you can sink into them. It's the engineering which makes the difference. And unlocking all engineers and fully engineering a ship from scratch still is a long road. Even more: while buying and selling modules doesn't cost you any credits, selling engineered modules (if your storage space is getting tight) costs you all of the materials used for the engineering done.
So all in all, via Engineers, we have a new currenty (materials) and hidden currency sinks. (E.g. changing the modules engineering, changing modules, other module sizes for other ships, etc. ) Mind you, i still dislike engineers.I think that they are well over the top and are a catastrophy for the game and its balance. They are a huge problem for FD, whenever they try to create new content which should be challengine for veteran players while not being mass-murder on anybody else. But they do provide a new currenty, which unlike credits, do not suffer as badly from mudflation and provide a long path of progression.
And on the topic itself, hmm. I don't follow a common theme, but am a bit all over the place. I mean, my imperial ships are "Pieces of Eight", Jolly Roger" and "Royal James". That's thematic. Then there's a number of ships based on my "crew". (My wife has plenty of plush pets, some of them ended up on my computer table. Among them some plush dogs, several plush crabs and a plush guar from ESO. ) Based on them, i have ships in use with names like "Iron Dog", "Werecrab" and "Guar Dian". And some other names are just random, e.g. my Krait being "The Krait Escape".
So no, i guess i don't follow a certain line. It's just what comes to my mind and how i have fun at the moment a new ship needs a name.
And ah, yea. Last not least, i know that some commanders like to add numbers to their ships name when they lost a ship. Based on that, i still ponder if i should call one of my ships "Integer Overflow".
