Sadly I'm getting addicted to Cloudpunk and yes I am ashamed of myself.

@Hank Oh gottcha.I think it's Dual Universe being referenced.
Agreed. I wouldn't say no to a realism reskin. If NMS could get 50% close to ED's graphics--heck 90% of Space Engineer's graphics -- I'd be in hog's heaven. Perhaps this could be achieved using an ENB series overhaul (at least for PC players the way this was done for Skyrim). Not sure what would need to be done on console end though. Oh and add a human species to the existing humanoid models in the game if possible. I've got a peculiar fetish for playing exclusively humans in all my space/fantasty & action RPG gamesNo matter how much i try - i cant stand NMS' gfx and the fake-ish worlds.
Looks like freaking Spore

There are mods that can remedy that of course. Not sure which are the current ones, but there was a really nice mod a while back, can't remember off the top of my head, what it was called. But it changed the game fairly drastically. Black space more errie sci-fi planets, colours, ships etc.No matter how much i try - i cant stand NMS' gfx and the fake-ish worlds.

It didn't go the ED route with planets because its sci-fi, which is a good thing, Fdev could learn from.
Edit: DU is a mess of a game. Well, lets say early access, that won't reach full release as intended, may do watered down, but they have a mountain to climb to do even that. (just imo)

I was talking about the mod.sci-fi?
it's pure candy-saga fantasy
sci-fi?

Nope, it's stylised sci fi - based on the covers of books like Robert Heinlein from the 70s and earlier.

I'd say it's more likely based on Spore, but meh... not touching NMS, so this is a moot point anyway.
You're wrong about NMS. I'm not trying to convince you otherwise, but I do want to "set the record straight" for those who might be interested in NMS but are then put off because of misinformation like this. That happened with me regarding X4 Foundations - I avoided it for a long time based on a ton of misinformation being posted in this forum (mostly by people defending ED by trashing other games that compete with it).I'd say it's more likely based on Spore, but meh... not touching NMS, so this is a moot point anyway.

Tomcat as starter plane? It is a very stable bomber platform though. I can recommend Harrier, much easier to land... The Kamov helo is quite impeccable, too - no tail rotor to worry about and flies smoothly. No IR targetting though, that is up to the AH64 coming up.I'd probably buy NMS at this point (even though the art is also not my cup of tea either), but I dipped my toe into DCS and it sucked me right in.
I don't know why I like to punish myself with this complexity and steep learning curve, but it makes it so alive - tried the F-14 this weekend and it's flight model is probably the most complex I've ever experienced (I will choose another starter plane). So yeah, having fun with it.
Apart that I'm doing the XCOM2 Legacy missions plus play Warships, though I might take a break from it soon.
