What other games are we all playing?

The current CG is such, that I re-installed World Of Warships, for some cheap BangBang stress relief. Stay at Tier 1, and life is fun. :)

I saw this a few pages back and ... I'm in the same boat with WoWs. I haven't played in about a year but I miss the sound of seagulls and waves crashing against the hull. Space games can get old.

I've told myself to not get irritated if somebody says I suk. ... cause I do ... but, its still fun.

So does nobody in this forum play Eve Online?

I'm surprised at the no responce because I assumed (?) a lot of ED players also played Eve at least a little bit. I DL'd it and tried it for a few hours way back when it first hit the streets, then abandoned it. I was more into PvP armored combat at the time which ate up all my game time.

I did, years ago, but it looks like you are looking for someone playing it now.

They do like to 'Ballance ships', which is out of order. I spent a good couple of years and a lot of isk, on training for the Rattlesnake. Missile range of 260k, drone range of close to 200k and skilled up, for the micro-jump drive. I could orbit well out of most things range and take them apart and then they nurffed it. Cut the drone bay, by close to half and reduced everything else, including removing a missile slot. I quit the same day and sold my membership. Agreed, I had a meta ship and up-set some players, but I put a lot of thought, isk and work into it.

It was a bit rough sometimes, especially at the start of playing the game. Pay to play, could be expensive, until you learn how to earn and I learned that the only thing, that was not profitable, was combat. Everything else, worked the right way, made isk. Plus I joined a good corp. if they didn't do the balance thing, I would probably still be playing.

Subnautica Below Zero

I loved the first game, the mix of base building, excellent exploration, atmosphere, easy yet interesting gameplay and enigmatic story presentation all hooked me and was helped massively by it's beauty.

The second game is all of the above again except you are now a voiced character playing along a more fleshed out story. You are Robin a sister of another character who has suspiciously fallen foul of the mega Corp Alterra on the same planet as the first game except this time in the frozen ocean. Of course none of this starts smoothly and you have to drag yourself to survive a familiar disaster from the first moments.

The game is astoundingly beautiful on my setup with the usual graphical bells and whistles you'd expect. It plays nearly identical to the first game but with a few lateral differences mainly due to having much more to do on land this round.

I have only scratched the surface but it's easy for me to heartily recommend this to the forum, if you played and enjoyed the first one you will find comfort here also with more to like.

It helps with backstory a little if you've played the first game but it's not required as so far it stands alone from the previous title.

League of Legends, Shinobi Striker, Everspace 2 and Endless Space are some of the games I've been playing when I get tired of the ED grind. Madden 21 as well.

I played from when the servers went online, for about 10 years. I wanted a modern Elite, and this was the nearest thing at the time other than X. Plus, it worked over dialup (yes, I'm that old and so is the game).

A few things eventually stopped me playing. I'm not a social player at all - prefer games on my computer to be games on my computer and not reliant on an external server or other people to play. So I always played solo in EVE, but that's not how CCP want you to play the game... and they started putting in little things that would be gated behind being in a large corporation. Cumulatively, they became annoying to the point that I came to the conclusion that CCP didn't want me in their game.

Also, once I got a full set of +5 implants, it was too risky to do anything... because if you die (and that could happen in an instant) you'd lose everything. I didn't have the time or game income to replace them. So I started to find that I was simply only logging in to change skill training, and then logging off. Sometimes for over a month. For a game that cost £15 a month, that wasn't really worth it.

Finally, and my memory of the details may be shaky here, but there was a guy who was (for some reason) hounded and persecuted within the game by other players / corps. The game is all about PVP and so this is encouraged - BUT, the poor guy eventually got so upset by it all that he committed (or at least attempted) suicide. This was bad enough, but what got me and turned me off the game completely in the end was that at the following EVE Fest, the bullies & CCP themselves seemingly celebrated this on stage as a selling point of the game. They thought it was great that the meta of EVE had such a profound effect on someone.

So I thought nah. And cancelled my sub. 🤷‍♀️

I made a meme for Pathfinder Kingmaker

Third Age mod on Medieval II, Lord Elrond is having neighbourly disputes with some orcsses.

Ooooh, i've played the hell out of that over the years. Are you playing with or without DaC? Pros and cons to that i've found.

Played the high elves a couple of times. Can be hard to get started but if you can get out of Rivendell quickly you can become a real power (albeit a slowly developing one due to slow recruitment).

Cheesiest game i had was with Mordor. All ringwraiths in the same army. Charge enemy and just before you hit activate fear on all of them. Watch an army twice your size rout and flee while you smash into their backs. (don't recommend doing this if you want a challenging game, you should never lose a fight doing this).

It's a game I spent too much time and money on for very little. Ah, well.

Never tried DaC, enjoy it vanilla so to speak :)

I did find the game, a bit clicky. By that, I mean, you were in, or you were not a part of 'the club' and 'the club', had some major influence over things like balancing etc.. I was never a part of the club, not even close.

Oh wow! Stumbled across this neat little gem called Farmer's Dynasty on Steam. This was released baack in 2017?? And has been completely under rated based on the addictive hours of functionality and sandbox sim it offers IMO. It was produced by Toplitz Productions, same publisher who's producing Medieval Dynasty (currently very successful in alpha on Steam). Definitely a publisher I'm watching in future as it supports some really creative Indie devs.

This farming simulator is the nirvana to my longing for what would happen if you could marry Farming Simulator 19 with The Sims 3. GamingGargoyle did a 167 episode playthrough of the game covering all aspects of the game here o_O

Basically farm just like FarmSim 19 to make profit. But with the added RP challenge of actully LIVING as a farmer i.e. you need to restore your grandfather's shuttered farm you inherited to working condition. So the big game play attraction is it's not just your farmlands that are interactive in FarmSim19 style. But your ENTIRE farmstead (house, grain silos, barn, etc etc) is in TS3 style! And this means your PC needs to keep & store some for their farm produce for daily survival/household sustenance and upkeep. Yes. Your FarmSim 19 PC finally has a REAL interactive and functioning farm house on their farm. Which like every other building/structure on their decript farm, they need to personally upgrade/fix and maintain while trying to grow/sell crops for profit! Game has a real map showing the entire farming community of NPC neighbors your PC can interact with!

So 100% of the farm's building exterior & interior structures require first person Sims 3 style repair like the
  • Barn (in which you must store hay to keep livestock, manage/produce dairy etc).
  • cowshed (store livestock)
  • Chicken/geese/ducks/pidgeon basic fowl coops (which produce eggs/poultry meat for household/market)
  • Garage to store your farm and personal vehicles in FarmSim19 style
  • working grain silo to store grains
  • Greenhouse (that acutally GROWS vegetables you need for household/market. But need to interact with greenhouse in Sims3/Fallout style repairing its features like automated ceiling water/temperature control etc first).
  • Farmhouse (your PC's house which has basement/cannery storage). Because your PC needs to eat & sleep. AND socialize with other NPC farmers on the map (trade by doing work for them in exchange for farm equipment you can't yet afford etc.).
  • Restore and upgrade oher secondary external structures like the Gazebo, fuel depo etc.
  • Repair and upgrade other secondary internal structures like bedroom (where they sleep), kitchen (where they cook food), pantry (food storage), attic (a random location where a treasure chest may spawn during RNG treasure hunt events on the map), living room, nursey, bathroom etc.
Socially on the RP end your
  • PC can hire numerous NPC farm hands to help run their farms. While they pursue higher level pursuits like romanicing a spouse, studying the culinary arts, scheming up a farm monopoly to buy up all the farm land in the county, perfecting practical hobby past times like fishing, bee hive tending etc.
  • PC can buy a cat which will guard the pantry and keep it mice free. Since mice will eat & destroy home's food supplies. But PC needs to bribe cat with fish regularly first!
  • PC can befriend a homeless dog by feeding it regular sausage snacks. Then adopt the dog which will guard their farmstead.
  • PC can forage level 1 raw food (fish from pond fishing, eggs, milk, honey, mushrooms, strawberries & veggies grown in greenhouse) to eat as level 1 food
  • PC can preserve raw foods into level 2 foods by using the kitchen stove to can it. Then eat or sell them at higher values at market
  • Heck, your PC can even flirt with then MARRY NPCs to create their own personalized dynasty! (similar gameplay to Medieval Dynasty).
  • PC may become a father if they're an attentive spouse (ie. regularly socializes/compliments their wife). Who might then give birth to 2 children who will grow up & play around on the farm etc
  • PC spouse will cook highest level 3 meals if: 3 raw food types are available & your PC has learned food recipes from cookbooks they buy from NPCs around the county. Then spouse will combine 3 types of raw foods (as long as they're available in the home's storage pantry) and cook them on the kitchen stove into a meal.
  • PC will get level 3 meals that completley fufills PC hunger needs and can also be sold at highest prices to NPCs.
  • PC can store foraged raw food, tinned or cooked food in pantry. Then sell these cooked foods in bulk to NPCs around the county and make a solid profit in euros.
  • PC needs to do all this crazy home economics micromanagement --- while growing their crops/livestock for the year to turn a farm profit in FarmSim19 style. And while becoming a popular pillar of the community to their farmer NPC neighbors. All while trying to keep their spouse engaged enough to become knocked up & have kids.... :p
You can switch betweeen socializing/trading/gossiping/doing quests/work for other NPCs on their farm and around the map. This raises your socialization/popularity score and gets you farm equipment to manage your farm. You can switch to the strategic DIY FarmSim 19 mindset from the TS3 RP one. Begin to harvest & sell your crops for profit and personal household use. Then upgrade your farm equipment for next harvest cycle (and hope the stork decides to visit your spouse as well) :D

For those FarmSim19 junkies who might have missed this on Steam, can get the Deluxe edition here with its 2 DLC for $36USD at 13% discount:

also Toplitz just annouced another intruiging sim recently. This time, it's a Western town called -- wait for it -- Wild West Dynasty aka when RDR2 hooked up with Medieval Dynasty and had a baby. Lol. Definitely bookmarked and watching the development of this one in the future :geek:

I need some guidance for Pathfinder : Kingmaker, I'm in Act 1, normal, and am getting destroyed constantly.
Of course when searching, the answer is invariably "you gotta know the rules for blah blah blah".
How does someone who's never played DnD supposed know the rules?
Am I to go out and buy the dungeon master books?
Yes there's plenty of pre-made builds out there, but I don't want to blindly follow someone's build, because I still won't understand the underlying concepts.
I'd like to understand the game and it's rules.
Is there a site out there that has pathfinder and 3.5 rules?

When making your characters and playing it can help to know the D&D rulset, but the basics are pretty simple and if you hover over things it tells you what they do.

However, i suspect your main issue is the difficulty, so go into your options and ramp that difficulty level down. Either select custom options or choose one of the predefined ones. You may want to select full recovery on rest and revive after combat. Hell, stick it on story mode.

Once you get used to things, and if you find combat is way too easy, tweak the difficulty up.

There are no prizes for playing on a harder difficulty than whatever is comfortable for you. Some people play on "unfair" and relish making munchkin builds to survive. I prefer to make themed parties that are sub-optimal and therefore can't have the difficulty high otherwise i'd get maced.

Its all about enjoying the game, so make sure you are.

But if you really want to go down the rabbit hole of learning everything, the ruleset is open source.
