What ships do you have and why?

Blimey. And I thought that my 18 engineered ships were a lot!!!

I also just realized, I forgot one too..

Diamondback Scout - Most recent addition, High Gravity World Explorer

I haven't had too many opportunities to make use of this one yet though, which is why it's so easily forgotten, along with being new enough to still have the plastic wrapped around most things.

I do like to collect ships though, and I always have a use for them if I collect them. I've been dispersing them across the galaxy, so I don't need to ship them nearly as far if I decide I need something else somewhere else. One of these decades I'll make it out to Colonia and build another full fleet out there as well... just not any time soon.

I have 17 ships now, and that's more than enough to engineer :(

Most are just toys though, I spend most of my time in my DBX, Cutter, and Corvette. I need to spend some more quality time with my iCourier and FDL, though, I've been neglecting those beauties.

I have at least six Sidewinders. Most were taxis at one point, none of them are the original ship. Just haven't bothered with them once ship transfer showed up.

Ships I rarely use anymore: Viper III, Viper IV, Cobra III (2), Cobra IV, Eagle, Beluga, Dolphin, FAS, FDS, FDL, Orca
Ships I occasionally use: Clipper, Type-10, Type-9, Vulture, Anaconda, WarCutter
Ships I regret selling and may someday buy back for nostalgia reasons: Type-6
Ships I sold and don't regret it one bit: Hauler, Type-7, Adder
Ships I often use: TradeCutter, FGS, AspX, DBX
Ships I use daily: Python and Corvette.

Toying with buying a second and third Python. Maybe a JumpConda. Definitely want an Imperial Courier at some point too.

1. iCourier "Road Runner" (because fast) - PvP trolling and combat, PvE combat, CGs, alien stuff carrier, surface prospector, mission runner, bubble interdictor.

2. Asp Explorer "Milky Edgehog" (because one of the first ships to reach the other end of the galaxy) - science vessel/Thargoid tissue harvester and other curious stuff picker upper, pirate and surface raiding/prospecting, mission runner, miner, people saver (burning station evac), silent runner smuggler.

3. Cutter "Black Swan" (because Black Friday paint job) - anti-Thargoid warship (currently obsolete), CG cargo hauler.

4. Anaconda "ROUS-4" (because Rodents of Usual Size 1-3 ended up as insurance payments) - luxury yacht and deep space explorer vessel, PvE combat, surface prospecting and raiding.

Mostly inactive/nostalgia:
Sidewinder
T-6 (I love this ship!)
Orca (Not flying this is a travesty! I am duly ashamed.)

Occasional use:
Cobra III, light missions, planetary etc
Vulture, combat
FAS, combat
FGS-1, surface attack missile ship
FGS-2, combat
AspX-2, exploration
Anaconda-1, exploration
Clipper, Thargoid research
Courier-2, light missions
Python-2, mining
T-10, mining
Cutter, trade, powerplay hauling

Heavy rotation:
Courier-1, combat
FDL, combat
Corvette, combat
Python-1, missions, trade, passengers
Anaconda-2, missions, trade, passengers
AspX-1, material runner, light missions

Everything is heavily engineered except for the Sidey which is stock.
Certainly going to buy a Chieftain, and have been meaning to build another Eagle or two.

The ones I use the most:

FAS: My main ship. Set up with 32t of cargo and an SRV, and armor and weapons for bounty hunting, I fly this one 2/3 of the time, at least.

Dolphin: Passenger runner that I use for the lucrative sightseeing contracts that pay enough to buy their own ship. (But who's gonna fly it, kid? You?)

T-6: I've bought and sold this ship I don't know how many times already, but when you need to move a bunch of cargo cheaply, it's hard to beat.

One more that I use occasionally:

DBX: Configured for exploration/surface prospecting. Don't fly it much anymore, since I can't stand to be outside the bubble for more than a few days at a time.

I have a few other ships scattered around the bubble, but I don't use those so much anymore. Mostly older ships that I've since outgrown, but can't sell for sentimental reasons.
