What teensy tiny things would you like to see changed in ED?

The ability to organize store modules into sub categories. For instance all modules designed for my FDL could be grouped up under one name such as "FDL Crap".

Also it would be nice to see right off the start by just highlighting them what the mods and effects are rather than having to click on the module, click on the modifications. I mean the stats showing by just highlight a module at first don't need to that big and can be reduced to add modifications in them.

Finally a numbering system for all the modules, as when I have say 60 things and I'm transferring one of say 10 PA's with different effects and such, it would be nice to know where I left off after transferring something. Kind of like numbered slots, either full or empty with a number attached to them...

The end of knee jerk reactions that over nerf/buff based on prior bad balancing decisions.

Other than that I'd like someone at frontier to actually play their own game and for that person to be present on livestreams piloting the ships instead of the usual embarrassing scrub skills they have on display.

And please, please, a key to get to a specific tab on a UI panel. I really, really want to use Voice Attack to request docking permission...

This is most certainly the one I want, even putting voice attack aside, I find it silly that we have to navigate through a panel to request docking, aircraft pilots only look at the radio panel to set the frequency, from then on transmit control is a button on the yoke.

I use VA for all my docking requests.

I say "Request Docking" and it navigates to correct panel and requests a pad.

What are you guys doin ' ?

I also use VA for it, but that makes the flaw stand out more, why does my ship computer have to go through the motions of head movement to look at a panel?

Ah, yes that's a valid point. I play in VR and sometimes forget that the head movement is forced for desktop players.

Whats killing this game for me is the fact that you lose engineer ranks when you put a special mod on weapons/modules this needs to either be removed or make it so we can spend 5-10 million credits to earn back ranks instead of making hundreds of useless mods.
Edit: ^ this probably isn't teensy tiny change but it really is killing engineering for me. I'll suggest another.
Edit 2: Each ship has a passive cargo rack, the size of the cargo rack depends on the size of ship and what the ship is meant for.

A mission displayed filter (similar to the astrolgical bodies filter) so I can choose which specific mission types are displayed.

So for example I could choose to not have the mining and assassination missions displayed, and then I would not have to scroll through them to try and find the stuff I do potentially want to do.

There's already a filter - presume it doesn't do what you want.

Some quick suggestions, several are probably already mentioned in the thread:

  • Make it possible to plot route to mission target system from the selected mission in the Transaction tab without having to open the galaxy map.
  • Have my ship try to land close(r) to the coordinate where my SRV is when I recall it if it is possible. In the 100-200m range, not 1000m+ away.
  • Add community goals as automatic bookmarks in the galaxy map.
  • Allow at least one level of folders for bookmarks
  • Let passengers from different missions share cabin space if possible and have passengers pay more if they want exclusive cabins.
  • Add a "sell all cargo" button when in commodities market.
  • Put a short list of all currently carried cargo types at the top of the commodities market to make it quicker to get an overview. Keep full commodities list below that.
  • In the mission board, let me filter missions based on target system so I more easily can find missions that go to the same system.
  • Add a "silent running" mode for SRV to allow for a more covert approach when doing surface missions.
  • Let me browse through all blueprints for visited engineers in game (and easily see how many rolls I have available for each)

I'd like to see the level of NPC pirate interdictions increase to bring the game closer to the original Elite '84. Currently the game has a very low threshold for NPC interdictions, even in anarchy systems. I can play for weeks on end and hardly ever see an NPC pirate in open space, and if I didn't drop into USS's regularly I'd probably see one every 6 months or so.

It's a great game, but I often feel like I'm all alone. I'd like there to be a wee bit more excitement to the game.

I think so, at the top left, but I can't remember what options it offers.

Well I went on last night and there it was in plain sight. Two years and I had never noticed it......

Thankyou for taking the time to enlighten me.

Wonders what else I have failed to "see".

When you scan a target with Kill Warrant Scanner then just show me the bounty value if wanted on screen rather than making me have to go into Contacts, find them and check the value there!

- When I scan a landable body, don't immediately show the approach interface but let the scan report for a while, or until a certain distance from the body.

- Add a multiple choice dialog interface to interact with NPCs (ok, not a so teensy tiny thing I assume)

I'd be happy for the KWS scan result (ie the full bounty) to show briefly in the upper right info box. The lower left target info box would need to continue to show only the local bounty when they are locally clean because that reminds you that you will gain a bounty/fine if you engage.
