Pfft...PWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Seriously, no.
You obviously haven't engineered one. Aside from the looks of it, the Chieftain outperforms an FDL hands down. Please argue this. We can go to stats quickly and see it's true.
FDL stats:
Jump Range: 11.41 (unengineered)
Pitch: 3.4s Roll: 1.3s Yaw: 9.5s
Speed: 377 Boost: 550
Shields: 1,294Mj
Hull Armor: 1,008
Raw Damage Output: 60.0
Alliance Chieftain stats:
Jump Range: 16.7 (unengineered)
Pitch: 3.2s Roll: 1.2s Yaw: 6.9s
Speed: 308 Boost: 534
Shields: 418Mj
Hull Armor: 2,333
Raw Damage Output: 57.8
So, the FDL has superior speed, boost and shields - which is excellent since it can't out maneuver an Alliance Chieftain, it can use those benefits to run for the hills while the Chieftain sticks to it's tailpipes like glue and pounds the living daylights out of it.
And if you drop the Chieftain's shields? It can stay in the fight longer AND has the ability to hold an AFMU, Collector Limpet Controller AND Repair Limpets as well, so it can stay in the fight longer, do repairs if necessary AND get mats at the same time.
The FDL can...well...look good and hold an AFMU and a tiny repair limpet...and storage for about six of them.
*ahem*
Hands down. Alliance Chieftain is the superior ship. Take one out, engineer it and see what it can do.
