What type of controller will you be using for Elite Dangerous

I will probably use the 360 controller if they can map all of the functions, otherwise it could get very awkward! Otherwise I might go joystick and keyboard, or mouse and keyboard (probably not)

Thrusmaster 16.000M, Keyboard and TrackIR if supported. I also have Saitek rudder pedals, maybe I can use them too. :p

Saitek X52
But I find it's a little imprecise around the centre, which is where it is the majority of the time.
I also have a Logitech something stick and a cheap controller to test with.

This is a tough question I've been thinking about for some time :S
I'm trending more towards a controller since you'll have more controls at your fingertips.. and FD are using controllers in the dev diary..
Hmmm hopefully FD will make some recommendations closer to release.

Thrustmaster T-Flight HOTAS stick for me! The controls aren't absolutely precise, but at the same time this allows me to control my ship better without the stick settling slightly out of the deadzone and causing me to veer off to the side.

Dam you and that Question ! *giggle*

I am rly looking forward to get a new Joystick. And as i can see this Thread might deliver tons of suggestions for that.

Let them come for the undecided please :)

:D

I'll be using a Thrustmaster T-Flight Hotas X with my mac assuming it'll work! Works fine with X-Plane so I don't see why it won't.

They probably used them because they had them left from testing kinectimals. Cheaper easier and faster than figuring out what joystick to go and buy. I wouldn't take them being used as a recommendation or suggestion.

I quite like the idea of dog fighting with a stick but keyboard/mouse would be needed for all the options and menus etc.

I'd like to try an analogue controller. I've always used a keyboard and mouse, but it toes have limitations.

I'll be relying on people's experiences here to gauge the scene ;) I have PS3 controllers, which would simplify things greatly if they were usable!

I'm currently using a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro to play Oolite - which involves some messing around with deadzones to stop me drifting off course in a maddening fashion.

However I insist upon using an Xbox 360 controller for things like Assassin's Creed 3 and Skyrim (never thought I'd say that being a long time PC mouse/keyboard FPS gamer) - which with its analogue sticks probably lends itself pretty well to a flight/space sim.

Having said that, the Elite I remember from the Amiga was made for digital joysticks/keyboard, so this analogue stuff is quite novel and fun for me!

I'll be testing it with both, but I will lean towards combining the Logitech and keyboard, because I love the feeling of having a load of buttons to press to modify shield settings/speed etc - it appeals to the Trekkie in me.

Of course, were a tablet-based touch-sensitive interface for managing systems settings to be developed...

Keyboard/Mouse for me.

I have XBOX 360 controller and an ancient (but still working great) MS Force Feedback 2 joystick though, if for some crazy reason I can't get on with that (probably a combination if I need to).
