What will be the name of your ship?

The Trojan Horse?

May put off PvP Pirates! ;)

No, I'm going with RN ship names being a Patrick O'Brian and Hornblower fan

Mine is going to have to be called "Serenity"

But didn't I see somewhere that you get to choose a name from a list rather than get to manually type one in?

Or was I imagining that?

If I have understood this correctly, you have a choice of ship classes you can buy (Viper, Cobra, Anaconda, etc.).
You can then individually name your ship, but ship names are not unique. So that means that you can have more than one ship named Serenity in the game.
Your commander name is unique though.

Thank you Gimi!

That makes perfect sense.

Just had a look at DB talking about the planetary landings and ability to walk around the ship/station and stow away etc. Essentially he's making the game that I have dreamt of for so long where you can almost literally do anything.

If I get any more excited about this game there is a chance you'll all see a mushroom cloud issuing forth from the South West before long!

Sure there'll be plenty of Star Trek and or Star Wars themed names so I'll ignore those but here's a few more ideas...

The Black Pig

KOMPLEX
The Righteous Indignation

Thunderhawk
Skybolt
Afterburner
Slingshot
Raven
Meteor

Feliner
Snarf

Great A'Tuin
Interesting Times
Binky

The Mystery Machine

K.I.T.T.

Brisingr
Zar'roc
Naegling
Undbitr
Támerlein
Vrangr
Arvindr

Sting
Narsil
Glamdring
Orcrist

In Eve I used to name my cargo ships after the number of sausages they could hold. I had an Iteron 5 called "273 Million Sausages" at one point, I think... Might be an idea if I start trading again.

If I'm only allowed one ship, then Tender Mercies - it has to be.

If I'm allowed more, I'll need a theme:

Ray Bradbury:

The Small Assassin
Kaleidoscope
I Sing The Body Electric, etc.

or Favourite SF authors:

Bradbury
Sturgeon
Moorcock

But this is a long way away - shouldn't we be choosing commander names?

I thought pub names would be good - The Red Lion, the White Horse,

If they're quite individual you might be able to recognise people who are from the same place.
