That would be the Empire. Not sure if they adorn the armbands though... but the regalia is certainly there! :D

Warspite named after my favourite British battleship
Eric - Named after a passed away cat of the wife's. Sounds like a great name for a ship.

How about creating a 'shipnamegenerator' function which works rather like the planetnamegenerator in original BBC elite. It would need a text string culled from the syllables of all the ship names in the portmasters' log at Southampton (for respectable traders) or somewhere like Malaka or Tangiers or Zanzibar for more various types of captain. If it cost 40p paypal to get an autogenerated shipname, or 80p to enter your own typed name and run it through some hashcode authentificated process to stash it in your Elite Dangerous binary, that would cover the cost of some programmer time and correspondence.

If selling ship names makes a profit then I'd request that Frontier spend the lot on a set of solar panels for the roof of their office. I can advise extra meters and wiring so that owning solar panels on your building allows you to sell surplus cut price renewable electricity to other occupants of the office block. That makes the endeavour less dependent on what the government are saying about feed in tariffs at the time.
