I had to think long and hard before posting on this thread. And after all that brain melting, I couldn't come up with a single reason that would stop me buying Elite IV.
If my PC was not up to the job of running it, I would buy it anyway and struggle until I could put a rig together that could do a decent job.
Looking back to the past, I did the exact same thing when Frontier came out on the Miggy. At the time I had (and still do) an A500+. The game was ok on it, but I really needed an A1200 to do it justice, which I later bought (and I still have that too; bit of a hoarder you see

). In later (PC) years the benchmark game was Half Life 2 and so I upgraded my PC to run that.
Now some might think that I am being daft, and you might be right! But, I have seen people mentioning on this forum and others, how they would like to thank DB for making these wonderful games. Well people, I can't think of a better way to thank him than to buy Elite IV.
I have to admit though, that I would prefer a sandbox model rather than an MMO, but I would (as a certain sci-fi character has often said), adapt, if I had to.
I really liked deej's point about idiots spoiling the gaming experience if Elite IV becomes an MMO. I would hate that too. If it happened to me, all I can say is, hell hath no fury............
