Whats happening with the November Bug Fix/Stability patch?

Not heard anything. I imagine Frontier towers is in a bit of turmoil right now what with Realms Of Ruin living up to it's name and the share price falling faster than a DBX tumbling down the side of a crater, so stability updates for Elite may not be top priority for them right now. 🤷‍♂️
The opposite should be true. If my dumb game flopped and continues down faildom, I would immediately turn my attention back to my awesome game. 🤷‍♂️

Ah it's good to feel noticed. We've not shared any details on the update yet as there's a few things that need a little more time. When we have a more definitive time for the release we'll shove the details in your face until you ask us to leave your house and consider using social media and forums again.
A short, locked announcement would have been helpful. Maybe it's just me, but it felt like there's been a communications blackout since Sally left.
Thanks for your replies. I feel a little less abandoned now :)

I think communicating with this community as of now isn't the easiest thing to do, is it? Paul dropped to say the update is coming when it's coming and people already asked about "that" update and inevitably want to know more of what's to come.
From where I see it, if they tell/promise something and don't deliver they'll get bashed, if they don't say/promise anything they'll also get bashed. Silence is understandable when some of us got their pitchforks ready.

You know it does not matter if they communicate with us or not
One set of posters will be reaching for the pitchforks if FDev say anything, while the others reach for the pitchforks if FDev say nothing

Bill

But how many posters still play............. eeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkk both sets are after me

I don't like pitchforks personally. Good or bad, I appreciate every gameplay-related announcement that's provided. It does feel like I'm part of minority though.

I don't play right now. I got sidetracked after a major personal goal became impossible about a month ago (my fault). The Virpil gear is still setup though, and I'm looking forward to returning soon.

So it would be better if people lost interest in Elite, so they stop pestering the devs with questions about the game?

And if "pitchforks" stay the same no matter what they do, why not try a completely open and transparent approach for a change, just to mix things up?

If only there were a community manager left to inform us of it.

Well, I guess Paul’s still there, but I have not much of a clue how far his responsibilities extend beyond delivering witty, sarcastic comments and silly remarks to us in the periodic recaps. (And I wasn’t about to furiously dig the internet to find out.)....
...there's Arthur too.... ahh wait...:censored:

I've bee away for a while so I didn't even realise Sally had gone till a few days ago. Has Arthur gone too? 2 questions:

1. When was the last Livestream about the game?
2. What was the last official news about the game in that livestream?

Arf is still around. Jens' last day was yesterday (yea I know he's not a CM for ED but still).

The last livestream was the October pre Halloween special, the next one is due to be December 14th a Christmas special.

I imagine FDev staff aren't paying too much attention to the update schedule right now, since they're more worried about whether they will still have a job in 6 months time.

If nobody had noticed, FDev's share price is currently freefalling, after the flop of their newest warhammer game. As ever, their newer titles fail to gain any traction and they have to rely on the steady income stream from elite and the dino games etc.

If only they'd invested their time and energy into a space-game niche where they previously had a competitive advantage (now squandered).

Share price only reflects shareholder opinion. We all know where shareholder priorities are...

There's no evidence that it's having any effect on current development. There is no point in worrying about shareholder opinions until we see otherwise.

No the success or lack thereof of the last few games from Fdev didn't cause the resignation of the Chairman of the board or the pivot of the company away from their games development trajectory or even their commitment to their older games at all.

(note this is actually a positive for Elite)

FDEV is in the unique position to be actively developing a space game, right when this niche becomes more and more mainstream thanks to big titles like starfield / and the controversy of star citizen.

They got the foundation for something that could still last years if maintained correctly. I really hope that they refocus their efforts back on the title that gave them the opportunity to grow to the size they are now.

Base building, new planet types, ship interiors, EVA, more vessels (in space & on the ground), or even a rework of old features. There are a lot of possible directions they could take the game next and the interest in the IP is still quite strong. However they would have to act sooner rather than later.

That would be great since it might also get the Thargoid story moving at more than a pace that a glacier exceeds. And whichever development effort/focus follows after it concludes(no Doom™️ here), whenever that is(and the conclusion of the war might have some more medium-longer term effects too).
