I ask because more and more we see threads in the main forum where someone in the middle of nowhere logs in and finds their ship has been destroyed. Whatever the mechanics of this( asteroids, orbit lines or celestial bodies encroaching on our "parking space" , or just pure software bug) FD is sympathetic enough to return our loadout and location, but they say they cannot recover our data.
As an explorer I don't care much about losing the odd credit here or there, the only thing I care about is my scanned data ! Thus the question this begs is : where is our unsold data kept ? It would not make sense for it to be stored on our PCs, as that will encourage cheating by the very few who make it their mission to gain an unfair advantage.
So if it is stored in the cloud, why can't we get it back ? does the software in ED immediately delete all stored unsold data as soon as we perish ? isn't that a bit too "final" ?
No one in ED ,in all the other professions put together, has more to lose than us when our ship goes boom, we need a solution and I know FD will deliver.
thanks
