Not according to the release notes, it's only available for ARX at the moment, not in game credits;

We are excited to bring ship variants into Elite throughout the year and are looking forward to seeing how you make use of each one. Starting with the Python Mk II, we are pleased to announce that this will be available in game for Odyssey players on 7 August for credits at Shipyards across the galaxy.

However, if you cannot wait until then you can get 3-month early access to this ship on 7 May from the store for 16250 ARX.

Non-Odyssey owners will be able access ship variants from the store for ARX.

So players who don't want to spend ARX in purchasing it will have to wait until August to buy it for in game credits.

The post was referring to bulkheads for the P2 - which were entirely unavailable in Colonia, and rare outside of Jameson in the bubble.

The ship, quite correct, is an Arx purchase until August.

I meant the bulkhead, not the ship. For a short time after the release of the Python Mk2, the hull options weren't appearing in regular docks. I think this was fixed after the update that came after.

I think the Stellar package will be ARX beyond August as well, also Horizons-only owners might not get it in August as well. It will be interesting how the store will handle that for Odyssey owners. I guess similar to Twitch drops of PJs.

The pre-builds will probably be Arx only for the remainder of the game's life, as will the weeping over P2W...

According to FD's comment, they can have the new ships for Arx, it is wait and see if that happens. Of course, the very same players could spend a tenner or less once and use Odyssey just to acquire the ships once they are available for credits. (Otherwise, tough luck peeps, if you wan'ts it, you gotta buy, buy, buy!)

August isn't too far away, wait & see, I guess.

Whatever happens there will be another giant portion of outrage, I'm sure... And the usual snark, open or couched in odd terminology, of course.

Why should there be an outrage ? It's just flipping a switch for all accounts. The code for which account has access to what has been in the game and working since the beginning, even regarding a ship, the Cobra IV.
