Which bugs/issues are you still experiencing?

I'm just curious what's still out there...

As well as the escaped animal issue which has popped up in the most recent patch, I just experienced the flying camera glitch again (which has been happening since release), where the camera flies off in the direction of one of the WASD keys you've pressed.

I also still have limited education options in my Franchise zoo, meaning I can't set up education items for specific animals. I will probably have to close my franchise zoo because of this issue and I don't want to go back to this mode/ get involved in community challenges.

I am also now experiencing an issue where certain foliage is not contributing to the percentage in the animal's plant welfare panel. To be clear, these are plants that usually do work and bring the percentage up and their size variants do still work but others don't. The plant coverage stat remains unaffected and increases when plants are placed.

I had my first day without any bugs/issues yesterday but it's back to being the same ol' PZ experience and I've quit out of it. It's just never ending.

For your Camera issue, @TheDeadYoshi, have you tried disabling the steam overlay.
I had this problem as well when I first started playing the game, but disabling the Steam overlay resolved it and it has never happened since. I also had crashes back then, which is the reason I disabled the overlay (after reading it may help), but it had the side effect of also fixing the camera issues.

For your plant issue, my bug for this is that sometimes the coverage bar doesn't change and stays red, even when the coverage goes up. You sure that's not what is happening to you? (Watch the coverage percentage displayed after the bar, if it's the same bug I have the percentage numerical display increases, but the bar itself doesn't move nor change color.). This bug is just a visual one though, it doesn't effect the animals welfare, just the display of coverage in the UI.

As to your actual question, Escaping animals, social going to 0% sometimes while climbing, and constant auto-boxing of climbers are the 3 bugs that plague me consistently. The first one is the worst, and fortunately it's been infrequent enough that my zoo still has average annual refunds lower than $1,000 so I'm still happily playing. But I really wish they'd get fixed soon.

Hey, thanks for offering solutions. I would like patches to address them over finding ways around them - in the meantime...!

In terms of the plants, that's not what's happening for me. The animal's welfare is not affected by plants that should make it happier. The same type of plants but bigger/smaller variants sometimes work but it seems like the game has stopped recognising certain ones. It's a headache as I now have a huge tree in a tiny habitat, just to make the animal in there happy.

Yeah, I've certainly noticed fewer instances of auto-boxing but it still happens.

Bo said in the other post that a fix for escaping animals should be out real soon, so that's something.

Not that this solves your other problems, but friendly reminder that you can hide most of the tree in the ground so it doesn't fill up the whole enclosure, it can basically function as foliage.

This is a great tip!
I have over 400 hours played at this point and I only figured this out yesterday when I noticed that some of the auto-placed trees in my South American Jungle zoo are buried like that. I saw some ground cover foliage off the map and didn't recognize it so I scrolled over to check it out and ... it was a buried tree. Such a freaking brilliant way to get some ground-cover and I never thought of it.

I'm currently dealing with franchise mode's animal market not really showing much for animals. I never get pages of animals up on the market, only animals I can buy for cash and it's only 1-3 at a time.

@Lizziguin, Check your currency filters to make sure you don't have the threshold for CP turned way down (or completely off).

Sometimes for me even just looking at the filters it seems like they should be fine and I have to change them to get things filtering the way I want, so even if they "look" right, try that.

Bugs I can remember offhand from my last session:
  • Baby macaques being flagged as escaped when walking on one of the log ramps.
  • Baby zebra being flagged as escaped in the middle of an enclosure.
  • Baby zebra somehow managing managing to glitch themselves onto the roof of the prebuilt large african shelter (might be related to the escaped animal bug).
  • Animals (mainly babies) being boxed very frequently - probably also related to the escaped animal bugs.
  • Vet hasn't visted the enclosure recently spam - have to tell them to visit manually to get rid of it.
  • Market window closing itself when you're trying to input a price for an animal you want to sell.
  • Trying to wild-release animals seems to have a chance to disconnect me from the server.
  • Baby macaques starving because a keeper that wouldn't feed them when called to the enclosure (I assume because there were already enrichment items filled with food). Had to send the babies to quarantine so they didn't die, then put all the enrichment feeders where the keeper couldn't reach/fill them.
  • Full sets of enrichment items not being unlocked after completing research - I'm missing one of the zebra unlocks in my last zoo. Had issues with lions/gorillas previously.
  • Hat from the macaque community event is still missing on my avatar outfits page (this has been fixed/fixed itself this morning (y)).

I am tired of the "I can't find my work zone" issue, with which all my staff members struggle. Even the ones who don't have a work zone are complaining. I think here lies the root of many problems this game has. The pathing system is flawed.

Can you explain this, got no idea which bug this refers too? Not really had any issue with education.

Except for all the bugs listed above, the biggest issue by far for me is the huge lag/low fps I have in my zoo :( Everything has become slow, it has been bad for weeks, but after the latest update it's even worse. I just hope this can get solved in the future, so that you can run your zoo smoothly even if it happens to be huge and take upp all avalible space.

I regularly get the flying camera glitch. Only way I can solve it is to come completely out of the game and re load it all.

I feel like the game def has a memory leak/problem that sneaks up the longer you leave it running. If I leave it paused for some hours, then come back everything becomes totally unresponsive and eventually finally crashes. Even when I just play for a few hours it starts to get noticeably choppy.

I only get lag when switching between play and pause mode.

So far, everything is alright on my side.

The flying camera glitch very occasionaly happens, but opening the in game menu and closing it normally fixes it (for the time being).

So say if I have a bison habitat, I could go to select it from the drop down menu in the education items but it won’t be listed. In fact half of my animals will be missing. Deleting the items and replacing them doesn’t fix it.

I played extensively last night and had one baby hippo escape, although he made it back to his habitat on his own. I've honestly had no bugs since the 1.1 update although the previous 1.0.3 caused me significant grief. This update fixed everything for me.

I get that "I can't find my work zone" every time I start the game because there's a slight delay between the zoo loading and the pathing system for every staff member being calculated. I think the thought then just remains in their list of thoughts, even after playing for hours.

Saving all the pathing system data for every individual visitor, staff member and animal in the save file would be a horrible solution, so it makes sense it has to be recalculated when the game loads...what they need to do is change the order in which things happen when the game is started. Do the calculations before allowing time to actually start, or something.

within 5 mins of starting to play last night I had 11 broken facilities/barriers, 4 animals die and 2 boxed animals. This continued and I'm guessing the improvements to animals not eating and drinking fix didn't work ... however I saw raised Peacock tail displays several times throughout the evening
