Which in-game species have you seen IRL?

There is no "wild" water buffalo in planet zoo, there allways has been the domestic one and there will never be any other

From the animals in game the ones I REALLY want to see in real life are red pandas, snow leopards, clouded leopards and binturongs.
Wallabies. No idea what species it was.

Here's my update for the Twilight Pack. I've only seen two animals from the pack IRL, the red fox and the common wombat, and of those two I've only seen the fox in the wild while I've seen the wombat in both the wild and captivity. Red foxes appear to be surprisingly rare in Australian zoos given the abundance of the wild invasive population, but I guess most people wouldn't be interested in seeing the animal that slaughters all the possums and bandicoots in their backyard in a zoo.

I've also changed up the structure of my tierlist a bit this time to include some additional categories. Now I've also listed distinct species for which I've seen a virtually identical relative IRL (Sumatran orangutan, Aruba Island rattlesnake and domestic water buffalo in this case), and I've divided the animals I haven't seen by whether or not they are kept in Australia. There's actually only a small number of PZ species present in Australian collections that I haven't seen yet.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I'm now also including the species I saw at Sea World (distinct from the American franchise) when I visited it as a kid, which adds polar bear and California sea lion to my list
Red deer + Grasslands Animal Pack update. Interesting how the last 2 DLCs have nearly doubled the amount of animals in-game that I've seen in the wild (from 8 to 14), though unfortunately half of the new additions have been species that are invasive where I live.

Another update since the Twilight Pack. Have seen a total of six species solely in a zoo (at one point, my local zoo had both spotted and striped hyenas rotating through the one enclosure), two species both in zoos and in the wild (the red deer in many places, including the famous research population on the Isle of Rum in Scotland, while I saw the morpho in Costa Rica), two species I have never seen (although I may have seen holes dug by nine-banded armadillos at the roadside in Costa Rica) and I have had to add a new category for two species I have only seen in the wild (peacock and swallowtail butterflies).

Well it's about time I did mine

Two notes:

-Last tier is for exhibit animals I have no idea if I seen or not and I couldn't be bothered to check for each.
-Zootierliste Gaslighting is for animals that I don't remember seeing, but ZooTierListe says that zoos that I visited hold them. Have I seen them but forgot? Have they not shown up those days? Did they get them later? No idea, that's what that tier is for.

I'm reviving the thread once again! I love seeing what everyone has seen or hasn't seen ahahah. I've updated my list:
  • The Tropical Pack was pretty generous with me, 4 out of 5! Of course, hard to see three-toed sloths with none in the continent ahaha.
  • I also added some of the "impossible" subspecies into the "Seen" list, taking under account I may never see said subspecies and I'll just pretend they represent ssps I have seen IRL. Here goes the list of what each of them represents:
    • Bengal tiger: Representing non-subspecific tigers and Sumatran tigers.
    • West-African lion: Representing non-subspecific lions, Asiatic lions, Southeast african lions and Southwest african lions.
    • Ussuri dhole: Representing Chinese dholes.
    • Taiwan black bear: Representing non-subspecific Asiatic black bears.
    • Himalayan brown bear: Representing Eurasian brown bears and Syrian brown bears.

I've definitely seen lar gibbon, red river hog, and fossa quite a few times. I might have seen Asian water monitor? Not too sure but I definitely haven't seen Brown-Throated Sloth.

Out if the new pack animals I've seen the water monitor and lar gibbon. Never seen any type sloth or pig in a zoo before surprisingly.

Now a question to all european users. If I were to go to one european zoo to see as many animals from my 2 bottom categories, which zoo would you recomend?

*I count the wild water buffalo as the water buffalo

Prague Zoo could be a pretty good option - it would clear the Chinese pangolin, Nile lechwe, bongo, aardvark, red-crowned crane, moose, wombat, maned wolf, Przewalski's horse, clouded leopard, gharial and lesser Antillean iguana from the list.

Nice! Must say I love that everyone adopted the seen in zoos/wild/both/similar/none model, makes for very interesting observations.

Msy I ask wwhat species similar to the western chimpanzee did you see?
I remember seeing a species of Chimpanzee, but I can't remember what subspecies it was. Maybe the Central Chimpanzee? Heck, it might have been the Western Chimpanzee, it's been a while since I've seen them in a zoo.

Zoo Wuppertal could be decent, featuring bairds tapir, dholes, red crowned cranes and king penguins.
Another good stop would be zoom zoo Gelsenkirchen, featuring moose, reindeer, skunk, beavers, springbock and spotted hyena.
Lastly zoo duisburg features reindeer, arctic wolfs, wombats, bongo, fossa and clouded leopards.
All 3 zoos are in neighboring citys so its very doabme to visit all 3 in a 3 day trip.
Honorable mention to the aquazoo Düsseldorf for having the dwarf caiman and most of the exhibit species
