Legacy players have money, they don't enjoy hauling that much anymore... ofc at crowded CGs we still find players, but trading routes for piracy are empty.

It went out of business over a dispute about War on Terrorism with the govment. It's active again in some form now by name but I use Steam anyway and really don't want to bother with the 3rd party stuff so much.
Odyssey, installed via Steam, played via Lutris on Linux due to a Proton bug meaning my pedals aren't recognised when launched via Steam.
I honestly don't see the point of not launching Odyssey if you've got it (ARX farming not included, if you're into that), and I also don't see much reason to not buy it if you're on a platform that supports it. It's cheap enough, and adds to the galaxy in more ways than just the ground conflict zones. Most of my fun has been had doing exobiology, or salvage missions on atmospheric worlds, meeting up with mates in station bars, the moments of buying a new ship and walking into the hanger, etc. Wouldn't have it any other way now.

Before the split i used to log in Legacy, mostly for farming Raws - or when playing on XB
After the split i played Odyssey exclusively (having migrated my XB commander to PC)
The platforms i play are listed in my sig and i cannot really say that i have a main account and 2 alts, but more likely having 3 alts or 3 mains fwiw

All 4 of my accounts since Gamma - standalone FDEV launcher, purchased in Frontier store. Always whatever is the latest version.
Around 7k hours across all 4 Commanders.
- Main is independent leader of The Winged Hussars (open only)
- Alts: a young Imperial devoted to Emperor Arissa (open only, currently awaiting PP2.0)
- Alt: Professor, Explorer and scientist always in search for new mysteries and astronomical wonders (Solo only)
- Alt: old ruthless pirate, disgraced and forced to start from scratch (mix of open and solo)

I play the latest PC version of Odyssey via Frontier’s launcher.
Started with and still mainly play Odyssey (2 accounts, both on Linux via Steam/Proton). Lately I've also been enjoying the Legacy Horizons version which FDev very graciously provide for free with the current game.
Having never played during the "legacy" era of the game, it's been fun starting new CMDRs and leveling them up without some of the more OP money printing mechanics (and also without the engineer-unlocking bug, come to think of it) of the Live version. Inability to exit the ship does feel limiting, but visual and planet surface differences, as well as getting more of a feel for the "genealogy" of current play, are rewarding.
