Who else DOESN'T hunt thargoid interceptors, and why not?

I have hunted interceptors but I don’t often do it for the same reasons you suggested. I also don’t like the idea of having to synthesize ammo and repeating the same motions for 20-30 min in order to defeat an enemy. It seems gimmicky and less of a test of skill and more of a test of grinding endurance.

I would prefer they were harder in the sense that they did more damage, fought less predictably (there is literally a play by play book of exactly the moves they will do at exactly what time), but had much greater weaknesses that a player with a high degree of skill could exploit at exactly the right time.

That being said you should absolutely try out the lesser interceptors and test you skill with them as you definitely do not need to synthesize ammo to beat them. They are a reasonable challenge as well.
I just killed my first cyclops at the weekend. No synth ammo involved, just an engineered Krait II with some Guardian weapons. It took me 4-5 attempts to get the hang of it but it's not that difficult and I say that as someone who's not exactly a skilful combat pilot. It was kinda fun, but I don't think it's something I'll be doing too often.

It takes a bit of practice to learn the patterns and know when to attack & retreat, but once you’ve got that down it’s very satisfying hearing their death rattle before they explode and you can get a Heart as a little trophy

My first kill I was low on hull and a bit too excited for that heart.

Flew right into the green cloud and it blew me up.

I'm hesitant to post this for fear others may learn from my mistake, but oh well.

I haven't and I won't. Back during the build up for the Thargoids return, then project lead, Sandro said there would be non combat related as well as combat related ways to interact with them. As soon as it became obvious that wasn't true I quit caring about the Thargoid narrative altogether.
In fairness, there are non-combat interactions (Tissue samples, meta alloys, thargoid items, guardian items, humanoid cargo)... they're just a bit meaningless.

Early on, I killed any number of Cyclops with my Corvette, using standard engineered hull and shields (before Guardian stuff became a thing). We also hunted them in wings and it was fun. Then the more powerful variants came along and they took a more studied approach. Our hunting group faded away and I haven't hunted Thargoids in quite a while.

TBH, I don't want an easy button kill, but I don't enjoy the multi-faceted attack to bring down the higher variants, I am after a more mindless fun version of the game.

I respect the aces in their chosen fields and salute their perseverance.

On the other hand, If the Thargoids were to make inroads closer to the bubble center and they were kicking humanity's rear, then I would be tempted to dust off the Thargoid modules and re-fit the fleet.

To say it is not a test of skill is a bit ignorant. You certainly need skill. Even if you know what the motions are, executing them well is also necessary and AX combat certainly requires more skill than your typical point ship at target until its dead. Many come into AX thinking it will be easy because they saw a video from Katie or similar. The thing is that pilots like her make it look easy because they are so damn good at it.

which don't have enough ammo to kill an interceptor, meaning you have to synthesise ammo on the fly
I’d like to underscore the point that this is simply not true. In a meta ship you can easily kill 4 cyclops in a row without reloading gauss ammo if your aim and distancing is good. Experienced pilots do medusas without synthing gauss ammo. Of course, you may need to synth a bit during progression (and hydra/multigoid fights), but that is transient. Heatsink synth is a different matter, but it is dirt cheap (and completely synthless medusa has also been done).

Don't care, too hard and nothing to show for it.

Difficult, yeah it wasn't easy (for me at least)
Nothing to show for your effort, I disagree. I am reminded of my first solo victory every time I play.

I've been scout hunting numerous times, but haven't tried going after an interceptor yet. I want too, I'm working a Challenger build for the occasion. Just been dragging my feet on it I guess. Maybe one day I'll get over the hesitation and just get it done.

I'm not an AX veteran, sure, I've splatted numerous scouts, but never an interceptor. Why? Having done the homework on AX combat, and thus learning that the correct tools for the job are guardian rail-gun like gauss cannon weapons, which don't have enough ammo to kill an interceptor, meaning you have to synthesise ammo on the fly, I was like am I frack going forraging for mats to burn as ammo. And that was it, scout splatter extraordinaire, particularly in my alts, but I'm wondering who else doesn't hunt the big bugs and what are their reasons?

Originally, back when we had that "tissue samples" CG (the one that was cancelled half way through because it was a dumpster fire), FDev seemed to imply that we might have some influence over the "narrative" related to the 'goids.
I was hoping that we might end up with various possible ways to interact with them and different levels of hostility based on previous interactions.
With that in mind, I deliberately avoided anything hostile, in the hope that it might grant me some opportunity later on.

Eventually it became apparent that there wasn't going to be much nuance related to our interactions with the 'goids but, by then, avoiding hostilities had just become "business as usual" for me.
When the Gnosis thing happened I did, briefly, flirt with the idea that "they shot first" so it was justifiable for me to retaliate but I was still clinging on to the idea that being non-hostile toward the 'goids might be useful at some point.

Is it posible to kill a medusa without premium, synth, reboot/re and repair limpets ? Execpt premium, is it all Stuff in my eye what have nothing to do in fighting. For all this has frontier implemented some things that it shouldn‘t work. But it still does and i don‘t like it too

Killed a lot of Scouts with my Chief because they said it was the fast way to increase Combat rank...well after a certain rank it's not fast anymore, and much more boring than normal NPC combat, tried to kill a Cyclop (with a friend) and it took too long (we managed to do it but..) and not worth the effort (imho of course and had to change the build too and FA off with my PS4 controller it's not easy,at least for me) I think it's a very "niche" activity those who enjoy it are good to go,to me it's not worth the time and effort, they made it too complicated and then why I have to unlock each and every Guardian weapon again and again for each size, usual Fdev approach.

there is still a imput lag on console when you fighting in a wing. Sometime the thargoids are doing weird thing... some calling this scaling, but spaming shield and Thargons are not scaling (besides why should a Thargoid not always give everything). You can see a huge lag when you are fighting them in multi crew.

After all that, there is still the Aggro change what it makes, harder to hit the heart in wings.
