I do purely because my paint is awesome :D

Just waiting for that ship-kit to match better :)

I didn't and I had intended to keep it that way on Keelback Amazon. This is what she looked like after a 40,000LY exploration:

Then I got destroyed a couple of weeks ago. It was my own stupid fault as I went in for some deep space salvage and got bounced by two overpowered NPC's hiding in the wreckage when I should have been taking more notice of my scanner .

So she's got new paintwork (minus what I've chipped of lately).

It's the first time I've been destroyed in months but, then again, I do spend a lot of time in the black.

I've never repaired paint on any of my ships. I go for the rugged merchant marine feel.

My weekly Travelogue is here:

0% paint health since the end of the last year and proud of it. Pity I can't post a pic of my T9 - my sigpic doesn't do justice unfortunately..

I've not really thought about it until now. I tend to touch up my paintwork occasionally, when I remember about it or spot some wear & tear in the Outfitters.

However, I really do wish I'd left my AspX paint exactly as it was when I got back from my first ever long trip out into the black - 6.5KLY away from the bubble - that Black Friday paintjob looked very impressive with significant wear and tear. How I regret not leaving it exactly as it was - an explorers proud badge of toil and distance! Now, it's back to pristine Midnight Black... maybe I need to get out there again and beat it up a little!

Depends on the ship.... My Annie is a 0% and since its vibrant yellow in theory - it looks like an over-ripe banana now. In contrast Cobra has custom chrome paint and is polished lovingly daily

I clean my paint after every long range travel. But I like to get pictures of my poor victims before doing that :)

That's my sidewinder parked at Jaques - Colonia after my Outlander Challenge. 22 ly made in a ultra-stripped little tin can :D

After i took my asp to the core and back it looked like it had been flown thrugh a star.. it was one of twice lol. And i love that it does... i kept it that way for as long as i could... eventualy i crashed it i to a moon and the insurance company repainted it :(

I keep the paint nice and fresh. How is one supposed to bask in the glory of the Emperor with a scruffy looking ship?

I'm like those truck drivers in India. I have wild paint schemes on my boat, and I like keeping it shiny. I repair paint whenever I repair integrity.

Finally I can post a descend pic of my T9 with 0% paint health (since 2.1 ~ about summer 2016):

I am really proud of this degraded level I managed to achieve!

How often I'm willing to splash out on a coat of paint varies from ship to ship.

My main ship (despite the sig) is my mission-running python.

The corvette is at the opposite end of the spectrum.

I logged into my Asp this morning and discovered my paint was at 97%.

I’ve never intentionally repaired my paint. I want my ships, especially my Asp, to look well used. So I must have accidentally clicked repair paint without realising. It’s too easy to do. I would like to be able to disable this function, or at least make it harder to get at.

I suggest making repair integrity the default. Plus put the tab with both of these behind the restock function.

Hey friendo, Fed ships no, Empire ships yes... is my bag.

My greatest hope for Engineers was "windscreen wipers".

The Pythons screens are the most dirty, don't you think? Maybe we could get an in game equivalent to those window wiper folks who haunt the traffic lights in London. Maybe hanging near the stars in vacuum suits?

For my Corvette it is the exact opposite. If I see a single spot I stop and have it repainted. I think I take better care of this Corvette than my real one!

It's cheaper to re-paint the in game Corvette...
