Why do the reptiles produce so few young?

Wouldn't be that bad if they would make it more realistic because the small Exhibits are overpopulated anyways already after only one Birth🦎

Because these are high tier exhibit animals, and having to much of these animals, would make it even easier to sell them and make a lot of money/points.

Why do reptiles such as the snakes and lizards produce so few young when they produce more, especially the boa constrictors and iguanas
There were complaints during BETA about offspring (habitat reptiles). So they changed it. Can't remember if this also applied to exhibit animals.

But I think it's a choice to keep the game more appealing: The choice between realism and what works for most people in a videogame.

I'm pretty sure it was always like that for Exhibit Animals because at the Start of the Beta I've only had Exhibit Animals due to a Problem where I wasn't able to access the normal Animal Market and I don't remember the Offspring Numbers being higher

I think some of the habitat reptiles do actually need to be balanced. It is true that you can't expect them to have a hundred young "for realism", but if they have less offspring per mating event than an animal that has a much lower litter size irl, that would require balancing for consistency purposes.

For instance:
  • Salties have an average clutch size of 40-60 irl, have an offspring count of 1-4 in the game
  • Gharials have an average clutch size of 30-50 irl, have an offspring count of 2-9 in the game
  • Cuvier's dwarf caimans have an average clutch size of 10-25 irl, have an offspring count of 2-7 in the game
  • Brown bears have a litter size of 1-4 irl (max 6), have an offspring count of 1-4 in the game
  • Tigers have a litter size of 1-5 (max 6), have an offspring count of 1-4 in the game
  • Lions have a litter size of 1-4 (max 6), have an offspring count of 1-3 in the game
Even if we are to ignore the discrepancies between the two categories, the inconsistency between different reptiles is still a problem. In reality, salties should have the largest clutch size of the three crocodilians featured in the game.

Since both the Cuvier's dwarf caiman and the two giant tortoises have similarly low clutch sizes irl, and have a similar/identical offspring count in the game, we can take these values as reference to compare the other two crocodilian clutch sizes. Gharial offspring count makes sense in comparison, but salties should be a tad bit higher. I would recommend something around 2-11, for it to be consistent with the others.
