Modes Why do you want me in Open?

Then stay in solo and stop worrying about the modes you don't understand. I don't see what your issue is.

Or perhaps we should remove PvP completely from Open and you can "go to Solo"?

It's not I who doesn't understand the modes, darling. It's you who fails to comprehend that there are indeed other players who didn't buy this game to compete with other players.

People aren't going to stop posting about this and simply "toddle off" because you don't like reading it. Just as those who wish PP to be exclusively made to Open only, other players have wishes for changes to be made, too. We're all customers here.

Some don't know what they'll enjoy till they try it one way or another, but its part of the game they bought and I enjoy it. I make sure players get the whole game experience, not just bits and pieces.

Seriously, just who the hell do you think you are?

It's great that you enjoy the game, just quit telling everyone else what they should enjoy.

Presumably those players wanted that risk and choose to engage because they enjoy it.
Forcing it on people who don't enjoy it isn't going to make them enjoy it.

It'll be shocking to hear for you, but not everyone wants to git gud.
Some just want to have a chill time cruising through space.

A small portion of PvPers ruin that, not just with the PvP itself, but also with their attitude and approach.
Powerplay doens't seem like a required activity for having a chill time cruising through space, so I don't see how it being moved to open would affect that.

Of course there are people that bought the game for other reasons. I was one of them years ago, as were most pvpers I talk to. I still don't get why you're so obsessed with pvp when you clearly don't touch open.

the issue is, as Fdev have stated that they want more players in open and less in solo / pg, and have already started pushing players into open via this pp thing.the option may not always be there for us pve players to stay in solo

i`ve been gaming for some time and i have done the pvp / deathmatch thing, and i long ago got bored with it, do i enjoy combat vs npc`s...no i dont...do i want to experience pvp with another Cmdr..no i dont

I'm not telling anyone what they should enjoy, I never tell solo players to come to open because I don't want to play with those sort of antisocial people anyway.

Then stay and solo and its no issue, they won't ever remove solo. It has its place obviously.

Um, because PvP players essentially "own" Open mode with their ability to choose combat engagements with other players, whereas PvE players are relegated to limited size groups with no ability to toggle PvP/PvE? Yet PvP players consistently whine about "disadvantage" in regard to PP and say that PG/Solo has an "advantage" of some sort?

It's not about "touching Open", it's about FD making changes to the game that affect ALL modes, whether you choose to see it or not.

Buddy your argument still isnt making any sense. As far as I can tell you just feel generally victimized because other people are having more fun than you. I'm hope thats not the case but I would appreciate it if you clarified.

It makes sense to many more than you'd like to believe, but thank you for letting me know that there's nothing I can offer to clarify it for you.

That would fix soooooo many problems with both the game and the playerbase in one fell swoop. No more PvP balancing issues, no more ganking, no more whiny PvPers, etc.

In one of the other threads, babelfisch mentioned a poll on Reddit that included over 12,000 players, and only 12% participated in PvP (anyone got a link to that?). I’d classify 12% as an acceptable loss for the greater good.

Ah so I was right, you are just generally angry at PvPers.

Nope, YOU are unable and unwilling to thnk of their argument as valid making their attempt to educate you in their argument null and void BY YOUR ASSERTION ALONE. Sylveria does NOT hate PvPers, but you insist that there is no validity to her argument so she doesn't care or want to continue to beat her head against the brick wall of your wilful ignorance and petulant refusal. No hate for you, just an acceptance of YOUR asserted viewpoint.

But he said I was right if it helps me sleep at night, and it does so I am.

Indeed. Some people... you just can't reach...

No, what they're saying is transporting supplies through a warzone should be dangerous.

Should it??? Point me to a real world conflict example where a country will accept significant and cumulative destruction of its economic transport fleet (in real world examples commercial shipping and commercial air) EXCEPT in existential type conflicts...
Britain and Japan accepted it in World War 2 as they were locked in life and death struggles...nobody is going to accept it over petty border-struggles at a level BELOW that of full-conflict...
Which is what PP struggles ARE...
There's NO state of War between the Federation and the Empire (much less between factions of the Powers) its a "cold-war" type struggle of economic conflict, political maneuvering and low-level insurgency

Its not about realistic, its about whats more dynamic/emergent/fun. Lore comes after gameplay, not the other way around.
