Why is everybody the good Guy?

Lots of reasons, I suppose.

1) How you act in the game is how you act in real life.
2) Jump on the winner's bandwagon.
3) Anarchists are bad (no, they're not).

Just a few off the top of the old noggin'.

In this CG ans in others everybody is the good guy. This is boring because you know that the good guys will win

If you want to become a sound sociopath you should not be fatalist. There are some of them in game but unfortunately, because they are sociopaths, they don't visit FD forums.

Me and mine are supporting the Cartel, aren't sociopaths, and visit the FD forums. WHOOPSIE THERE.

There's nothing wrong with being a smart sociopath. Bust most of them are just sociopaths.

And here, campers, we have an excellent example of the fallacy that how people act in a video game is any indication of how they are in real life. Sadly, such moronic shaming keeps people from dipping their toe in villainy (I mean, if morals weren't subjective anyway!).

Shame, really.

Because, "Blaze your own trail" by following a very strict set of rules that ensure it's all rainbows and sunshine for all of the delicate pilots in this cut-throat galaxy.

Nobody likes to be counted amongst the losers!

We're all nice people at heart, and want fluffy unicorns...

Stop Judging me!

Combat is like caffeine, too much of it makes me edgy.

Nelson Munce says "If you want people to point at you and laugh, support the cartel" Haah Hah.

I think I should stop now.

I forgot, Sociopaths might not understand offbeat humour.

I got my reasons:

1. Anarchists shut down Search and Rescue contacts.
2. Anarchists crow about freedom but allow open trade of slaves.
3. Interstellar Factors can be easily found in Low Security systems run by non-anarchy factions, and outposts rarely ever have security ships nearby, so the argument that shutting down anarchy systems makes it harder for pirates is specious.
4. I'm in the Navy and my wife used to be in the Coast Guard. There's a certain level of "fighting for what's just and right" that bleeds over from my occupation into my game playing.

However, the Federation is not and has never been "the good guys", so I'm sitting this one out because of that and some real life interference.

Bad guys lose a lot. Who wants to do that?

I’ve never understood the allure of villainy in videogames. I just can’t bring myself to hurt someone else, even in a digital space with no real consequences. Heck, I don’t even like hurting clean NPCs.

Actually, I’d say I’m my truest self when in a videogame, since there is anonymity and minimal enforceable societal constraints.

I can be who I am on the inside, rather than hiding behind the facade we all put up to mesh with the rest of civilization (and keep our jobs).

Consider this, if every one was a bad guy, then civilizations would never form, or flourish. There would be no Federation, Empire, or Alliance. It would be like the dark ages, where every village fortified itself against neighboring villages, and progress came to a standstill. Bad guys exist by feeding off the majority who are good and make society prosperous...so there can never be too may bad guys because that would be anarchy.
