I finally purchased the Early-Access (just yesterday). The $75 really made me stop and ponder: is this something I want to do? That's borderline investment for me, as disposable income is at a premium (as I'm sure is the case for most people). I think that's part of why it costs what it does: make sure you're really into it before you buy, as it is still just an Alpha and you're not going to get a complete product yet. People who are willing to shell out that $$$ are into this genre of game and have been waiting for something like this for several years, and as such, will be incredibly helpful (hopefully) in reporting bugs and offering suggestions on how to make what appears to be an already great title even better.
At least, that was my thought process on why I decided to finally pull the trigger. That $75 makes me feel like I've got a bit of a responsibility to myself to actually be a good early-bird'er. I put up good money for this; I best make it worth while.
