Why not just close open play fdev?

Even though I advocate Open only, I do spend 90% of my in-game time in solo or pg. Especially of late what with carriers & mapping stuff, tritium woes etc.
But I'll tell you why I believe elites future is one world.
A galaxy where high security systems within the bubble are certain death to all wanted/notorious folks.
A galaxy where being wanted is damn hard to survive day to day. Harassed constantly by PvP bounty hunters both npc and player alike.
A world of accountability.
Enclaves to ensure no PvP takes place.
Incentives to those bounty hunters brave enough to wing up and venture into anarchy systems where pvpers Basque unmolested.
A place where anything is possible. Bgs bonuses to those who kill opposition factions & empire etc.
Where mining in anarchy systems is....not very wise.
Groups wings squadrons of players moving freight together with fdl killer escorts.
Spec ops hunters in wings of 3 pursuing hobos who recently braved and medium security system for parts or fuel n repairs.
Accountability is key here. Being something has ups and downs.
And as for winged pvpers hell bent on taking on npc high security...oh dear seriously outnumbered ye shall be. Count on it.
Exploring will be hazardous yes, as would hauling. But map well and avoid certain routes and all is well...perhaps...!?

My game mode:eek:pen,PS4 universe.

From shieldless cargo cutter to pvp fdl.
And I'm quite engaged in Colonia conflict as part of Loren's Reapers.

My story: played Elite in '85. Discovered this game in march this year. LOVE IT.
Heard about ganking in open, so played solo, so much to learn, discover and do. I did my credits, mats, ranks, ships, engineers. In 3 months I had it all, solo play.
Question was there: now what?
I noticed that after all grinding, getting all ships and stuff and 60k ly trips around, with 1284ish systems with my name on it, I was missing something, gameplay, content.
So I started reaching out there, met bunch of great cmdrs, now I do 95% open, with my mates in wing, great fun and profit of whatever.

Guys play in open, meet eachother, we live in a real life lock down already.
At least you can fly, type or talk in open in real life, dont lock yourself in solo.

Galaxy is too big and too much is going on right now, from FDev's content to player content(check Colonia😁). Hope to see you out there in open PS4 universe, with open heart and opened hardpoints if needed 😉
Fly in open, fly safe, fly with rebuy covered.
o7 Cmdrs

Edit:applies for all platforms, off course

Nah, open is fine for everyone, with the exception of a select few, who should probably play Hello Kitty Online instead. :)
I suppose it depends on whether one likes having ones time wasted by players who don't care if their target has "fun" in the interaction.

.... then there are those who are not permitted to play in Open because they don't have premium platform access on their console.

Hello Kitty Online is a nice game!

Not even mentioning those who would totally play in Open but sadly don't have a PC/console/electricity/Internet access etc.

I hear this is popular with offline gankers.

What I don't understand is why people always refer to Solo as easy mode. From the perspective of a murder hobo, Open is easy mode. They usually target weaker ships exclusively, which isn't much of a challenge.

I meant it for those who are not murder hobo's! Hence my remark about locking them to Open so they can't use solo to safely grind credits etc.

Nah. I'll pass. Any others worth recommending based on experience?

Yeah you're right, maybe the nice and friendly colors are not enough. I should have tried it first: maybe it didn't even have a blocking function against evil kitties.
Sadly it seems it's too late to try and find out because, according to Wikipedia the game's dead now: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hello_Kitty_Online

Okay, let's see: Tiger Family Simulator? I must admit, my experience with it is nonexistent, but my daughters say it's totally ganker free.

Or how about the Waiting for the Bus Simulator? Here's the review:

No need to find another game with a block feature or different game modes offering player choice as to who one plays with - this one does just fine in that regard. ;)

Still trying to figure out why playing in Solo should be more cowardly than exclusively targeting weaker ships. 🤷‍♂️
Solo isn't cowardly, some people just enjoy playing this game to chill.
This is also a misconception that gankers just want easy targets. The vast majority of gankers go after difficult targets as well. Myself in particular, I will go after a Vette, Conda or Cutter before I go after the shieldless Adders.

These are both just bullspit stereotypes that each side uses to get at or diminish each other. Neither is true.

There are some exceptions to both. Sometimes players will switch to solo to undercut other players and there are some gankers that only target weak players but this isn't the majority.

Well, well, well, was gonna say the same thing Ganks so have a rep, you're still a filthy dog though!
