Why powerplay sucks

i just pledged my allegiance to one of the powers. got interdicted by opposing agent. killed them. got 400cr bounty. lost 4000cr in rockets.

nope, thanks.

also, i bought stuff in a station that i have to bring to a different station. tried two stations. both won't take it. probably the systems that have the white globe around them take them. going to test, soon.

don't know what's the purpose though. i feel the powerplay only gives us some reason to do the stuff we do anyways. i'm not seeing any consequences. i'm not seeing anything at all. it's all still the same stuff, except you get interdicted by enemy agents that don't give you proper rewards.

disappointing.

PowerPlay come into its' own if you both play in open _AND_ is in a power-aligned group/clan/guild. We in Contrail certainly have a lot of fun with it, and being with the morally flexible Archon Delaine power, we got plenty of interesting PvP battles happening more or less daily. It also helps that we are three large groups that try and herd the cats that is the smaller groups and independent pilots towards our common goals and overall strategy within our power. If a well organized power, even independent pilots aligned to it will find plenty of people to help out and wing up with.

If you play in solo or private-group, then PowerPlay is a bit pointless.

Yeah, other than fleshing out the standard game play, and monitoring the factions, it has little value for a Solo or private group player....And that is me.

OP - Have you tried asking in your specific faction's strategy thread? I'm pretty sure that there is one for each of the factions within this very forum. Those players will certainly know where you should take your goodies.

No I have not, I wanted to figure that out on my own but I guess that's not really possible with this system. I'll do that, I'm just very annoyed you have to go outside the game to understand something inside it.

It's a bit like looking at a chess board for the first time with another player slapping your hand all the time saying "yo can't put it there" while not telling you where you can put it. My only option is to try randomly every damn thing I can think of until I finally don't get a hand slap.

I'd do that to you, as I assume if you're trying to play chess with me, you must have read the rules first. Isn't that how games work? Read the rules first, then play. What is the point of blaming the game for not being understandable, if you didn't even read the rules?

uh, little value? better faction weapons and a weekly income of 5 - 50 mil, not to mention bonuses for combat? The Bounty bonuses do also apply to conflict zones.

OMG I'm going to have to read the manual. I get an hour a day to play and now I've got to waste it reading the damn manual. For gods stake Frontier, make some video tutorials. I'm here to play a game not decode your weird political system.

Go eat a Snickers bar. You're not yourself when you're hungry.
