Why screw with our way to make money?

No thats not all i find to do, but to be able to do other things, you need funds, and ALOT of it. jumping in to a fight with a standard ship is not something anyone with a half brain would do.

Perhaps, but it takes less than that to make funds. Pick a system that has missions you enjoy doing, earn the rep, make the money, play the game. It has really never been easier than it is today.

If you perceive making money to be the only purpose of the game, then this is the wrong game for you. You should play Stock Market Simulator or Money Tycoon or another similar game.

How about go out and shoot some pirates or explore some planets and have fun in general instead of worrying about how many credits per hour it's making you?

Woopdy g do, 8000 supplies, not all have a transporter ship that can carry 500 cargo or more, the Money you make for the time it takes is awfull, and that is the Point i was making with saying watching paint dry, its just backwards and farward, in endless loops, not being able to do whats actully fun..

Uh, considering that's what most of the game is, how is it not a good choice of game for people who are looking for the most efficient ways to do so? So long as there are things to buy with credits, people will veer toward making credits. Hardly anyone stays in a Sidewinder, let alone that stock Sidewinder you start with. You even tend to need to make some amount of credits to get to those points which have nothing to do with credits. Maybe I misunderstand the point you are trying to make, but at face value I don't see a good point.

I thoroughly disagree - this game just isn't about making money - credits are at best a facilitator/accelerator. Taking one of the potential "end games" as an example.... the BGS ....you can be much more effective in a Python than in a Cutter, and actually there is little need to move past a Cobra - something you can get within a couple of hhours of play time.

But why bother getting past a cobra then? To fly about doing the same things again and again and again?

At least the credit grind gives it a purpose. As shallow as it may be.

So you don't disagree with me then.

I have now been at this for 100 hours + after they nefred the hell out of the game to make Money, only to have them nerf it again, a question, do you want all players to give up on Elite Dangerous? this is ridiculous and it makes me and our crew basicly wanna give up all together on the game, FIX this ASAP or im sure alot of your gaming Community will go do something more fun like hitting their head on a brick wall or Watch paint dry.
No, FD just don't want to make it too easy and ridiculously simple. You know, like hitting your head or watching paint dry.

Then call me crazy because that's exactly what I did and guess what happened?

I got pretty good at it. My first instinct with the game was to jump straight into combat and any time I get sent back to a Freewinder the first thing I do is Bounty Hunt to get back on my feet.

My favorite story is when I was on my last legs and scraped up enough credits to by a Python with no rebuy and go cargo hauling. And I did good enough that I was able to get some teeth on my ship and we did well together.

I miss that ship. But I have fond memories that make Elite Dangerous the joy it is to play.

Yes you need funds but sometimes not having those funds adds more a thrill to the game. The challenge that people crave.

Sometimes it's just a matter of generating enough credits in one day to upgrade one component. One day at a time until the ship is complete.

Shhhhh, its a special secret about the medium ships!

I believe some folks treat E: D as having an "end game" and that is collecting all the big ships like cosmic pokemons.
Every credit I own was earned legitimately and through hard work. I've never liked getting spoonfed credits in games, it kind of takes the pride of achievement away.

No wonder a very few cmdrs think Pking these accelerated but inexperienced players is ..... fun.

It took me around two years to earn a Cutter, prior to that I thoroughly enjoyed the progression from Cobra to Vulture to AspX to Python. I still use all of those ships regularly and I also spend a lot of time in my DBX. Bigger ships aren't everything. ED is a sandbox, have some fun just playing in the sand before buying a better shovel and bucket.

I use a Cobra more often than not. I begrudgingly use a Python becuase there occasions where a bit of extra firepower comes in handy.

I think I was at about 600 hours before I made my first 350m CR or so. Perspective is a glorious thing.

I do it all the time. I have vanilla ships except for the one I had time to engineer so far.

Haz Res, CNB, and CZs: I slay with my FAS, Chiefy or Vulture.

FA off, shield cells are for kittycats. I love me my tanks.

Why play any game then? Most progression systems work this way. Do stuff, gain xp/money, upgrade, do same stuff but slightly harder, gain xp/money, upgrade, do same stuff but a little harder than the time before, and so on and so forth... It's just that some games hide this behind occasional changes in location and a boring, formulaic storyline with one-dimensional characters.

Wheres the bit that shows all your local rep with factions? EDIT: I see your fully allied with the faction.

Wheres the bit that shows your trade rank?

Are you saying these are in large stations everywhere or only in certain stations that could be considered edge cases?

Are these even in a large pad station or a medium outpost?

The fact your pics give mission rewards but display no other relevent information is mis leading. These missions are not the norm that you portray them as.

Yes ive found stations that give similar missions but theres a bunch of factors that go into calculatig these rewards.

I too struggle to find the time to engineer ships - basically I have too much to do in the game already. There genuinely isn't enough time to do everything I want to do.

I get you but, for me, ED just doesn't deliver enough variety of content.

Its showing that it is very possible to make more money in this game than you can sensibly spend - as it stands . You just need to apply yourself - this is 3 different factions - there will be more, I'm just occupied in a CZ
